RB Leipzig (A) - Post-match Thread

very disappointing.

The most disappointing thing wasn't the players lack of commitment , or the wank referee or even the suspension of Walker.

It was the fact we didn't get to see the youth in a game that would have meant something to them.
2 of the kids on the bench tonight were there to make up the numbers, they're not realistically going to make it here. Another one, Lavia, has been in really poor form for the EDS all season and is lucky to have travelled. Palmer and McAtee should have played, I agree. But I can see why they didn't start the game.

What’s the worst non-English team we can hope for on Monday?
That’s what’s on my mind now

Expected more from that line up. Flat. Our fault first and foremost. The standards at the club should have dictated more application.

Ref was fussy and didn't treat the teams equally. The non penalty was just perplexing, if var doesn't think it's a foul then I really don't know what would have got a penalty tonight. But a few squad players haven't done themselves any favours tonight.

Walker looked injured, should have been off as he was looking to be struggling all night. To take the kids and leave them on the bench is odd. I won't get in the 'pep bottled it' camp but why even take them then? What have we learnt? Just a reminder that a mediocre performance in Europe isn't enough, especially when the officials aren't officiating equally.

Still, if we're going to lose the it may as well be in a dead rubber. Move on. Next game.

The Boys in Blue never gave in. They fought to the end. Thank you lads. Thank you City. You might not have showed ‘em thoroughly this time but we are still there to fight another day.

How dare that referee send off our Kyle cheeky so and so! :-(
They didn’t fight at all tonight Eccles and Walker was a stupid so and so … Taking those kids and not playing them was a terrible decision by Pep, they would have fought to the end …

On to Wolves we go though … CTWD

We should have played as many academy players as possible in a meaningless game. While I want us to win everything I personally hate the champions league with a passion. I'd rather see us win the league cup than this over hyped corrupt competition.
Pep respects the competition. Maybe when the competition respects us we should do likewise.

What was the point in that? If you’re gonna treat the game like a training session, then why not give some more senior players a proper rest (Gundogan and Walker being the obvious candidates) and incentivise a couple of youngsters. If I’m McAtee watching that I’m not signing a contract in a hurry.
Other than that, and the dead rubber aspect duly acknowledged, it was a carbon copy of the Palace game. Grealish cutting inside into traffic all night, Mahrez doing the same, Sterling deployed through the middle with no service and all 3 of them continually offside. Ferna and Gunders in lead lined 19th century diver’s boots. Bag of shite
I’d agree with quite a lot of that. Sadly.

We were so poor tonight, Our lads turned up like it was a dead rubber hence the reason we were beaten. Walker was poor from start to finish complete stupidity the red card. Stones and Ake as a back two never ever works either.
Could go on all night...Poor performance all around apart from Steffen and Zinny.
