RB Leipzig (A) - Post-match Thread

Which players didn’t need to play apart from walker and gundogan that you are saying a lot of them didn’t need to play?

And how many times have you see egan riley play that you are acting like he deserves to start for us ?
Walker or Cancelo were most likely going to play and cancelo has more minutes in his leg so I don’t see the problem with playing walker.

Only Palmer has a case for starting the game so I don’t get all the outrage from this forum.
Simple. It’s a backlash.

I went into the game with pretty low expectations tbh so wasn’t overly disappointed.
I don’t overthink games like that but that’s me, I’m sure Pep won’t be happy along with the several posters on here venting but after tonight o won’t give it a seconds thought.

Tho whole bloody management and team seemed to to go into the game with pretty low expectations. Liverpool went into their game with attitude and were the first English side to win all six games according to reports. Lack of pride or even arrogance could cost us. A few games this season we've faded after getting a good lead.

The game meant nothing. Starting say Egan Riley at right back wouldn’t have been the worst decision as Walker plays most games and again the game meant nothing.
We played a strong first 11, who looked like they couldn’t care less. I’d rather have lost with a couple of younger players (maybe 2 or 3)
It’s not outrage it’s disappointment . Don’t really care about the result

Foden was another one just coming back from injury, why start him when he wasn’t apparently right?
Starting Foden seemed a strange decision for sure, but he's there to make them and its not gone to bad so far.

Check the number of trophies won under Pep. Then, if that looks like a meagre return for the teams he plays, list the coaches who’d have done better. If you’re struggling, pop a letter in the post and tell Pep why you’re not happy with the endless pots he’s won for us and explain how he’s got it all wrong and should be playing the kids. Then, in six months’ time, pull down your undies and see if you’ve grown a pair. Send the pics to Pep. He’ll be busy polishing trophies mind whilst you search frantically for your ball bag.
no one is arguing how good he has been for city, just that he is pig headed at times. CL final last year a good example and here today, such a good opportunity to introduce the younger players - they are good enough to play so its not like our team would be severely weakened. think he does it sometimes knowing it will pi#s the fans off

It’s the post match thread for discussing all things related to the game, I can only suggest you start a Pep has won a lot of trophies and stay in there. You seem confused about how football forums work tbh.

Poor game. The only thing I don’t like is losing the winning run. Other than that his selection was pretty much as expected. RB were disciplined. We were 20% down on what we could expect. Lots of individual errors too. Those clamouring for the youngsters haven’t been watching them recently.

Ask yourself, and in no way is this meant to be patronising, but why would he play the 3 most consistent players this season in a game where we have qualified? It’s a genuine question
Because he’s a winner. It’s why Aguero played (and scored) at Burton when we were NINE nil up. It’s the reason we’ve won pot after pot after pot. He’s not interested in resting half the squad so some kids get half a game. Go Strong. Play the best players. Leave the kids until they’re ready. Trophies. Wins. Pep. The winning formula.

Just discussing. Sorry you don’t agree with my view. Maybe try another forum?

You don’t just stick the young lads in, expecting them to do something. Many want them to start but the reality is that most will get kicked off the field, especially against some of the cloggers out there tonight.

Okay so why did you then say there were plenty players that didn’t need extra game time when you are saying 2-3

Foden was poor, at least his final balls were poor so it is better he gets it right here with the extra minutes. He got the knock during the game not prioir

Yes I’m sure that’s uppermost in his mind.

I thought this was a thread about the game against Leipzig not about the success we've enjoyed since Pep arrived.

Yes,but the group was won no need.

It’s okay I’ve read the reply you made to another poster just above mine, I now get it you’re a bloody idiot:-)
Maybe, but that’s a forum: idiocy, splenetic posts, decorum (occasionally) and outright bollocks. I think Pep picked a great team, the right team, but the team played poorly. He’s an absolute winner with no time for romance and I love that; it’s why we’ve hoovered up so many league cups. Pick the kids? Fuck that. Win silverware? Yes please. Winning is a habit. He knows it, the team know it. Let’s leave picking the team to the man that knows.
