In my experience as a 40+ last week, being offered = enjoy logging onto the website, then trying to chose a site only to get the message something has gone wrong please try later.

Once again, we’ve got NO flu in the country so our admissions through respiratory viruses are 40-50% lower than usual and yet the NHS is about to be overwhelmed. 11 years of austerity, disbanding public health, savagely cutting beds and having a care system more inclined to profiteer and send those profits off shore is far more responsible for overwhelming the NHS than covid is, whatever the people in charge say.

er, when its clearly wrong then yes! Ive got news for you, experts can be wrong. You would do well to remember that.

But we are not in lockdown and I think we will only be dragged there by dire necessity.

This message tonight clearly pins all on the boosters not closing stuff down or wrecking the economy.

The only reason we might get into lockdown territory will be if people stop being sensible over coming weeks or millions think the vaccine boosters are unnecessary and not a vital weapon to stave off the worst.

With all due respect, you can’t have evidence of the future, only speculation.
My biggest issue though is with the idea that somehow ‘the science’ is settled and ANY dissent is then classed as misinformation or, worse still, ‘denial’. Science, by its very nature, is about questioning everything and the established scientific community, as well as the government, seem to be operating in an echo chamber with the inherent biases that go with that. The danger is that science will be brought into disrepute (like Gove saying we’ve “had enough of experts”) which will be one of the biggest tragedies of this entire episode.
From a modelling perspective I do understand that if I predict a million deaths and there are ‘only‘ 100k, nobody is that bothered. Get it the other way round though……….

but he got the messaging wrong on that A little . He bigged up the need for a booster but played down the effectiveness of the two vaccines against the new variant.

he started by saying two vaccines isn’t enough to protect from omicron so it’s important to get a booster to get protection.

if you have not come forward yet for your vaccine(s) before now are you now when he has just said that you need three vaccines for it to be effective ??? How long is the total period to go from 1st jab to 3rd jab ?

we predict the future on the basis of evidence about the past

He did say to come forward to give yourself at least some protection, to be fair.
