I'm with you on this I am no way an F1 fan but I watched because it was one of those sporting occasions you have to see. I also looked into it afterwards. Yes the man calling the shots was under qualified.Not being an avid follower of motorsport I thought Masi was incompetent or bent, having spoken to a colleague who spends 10s of thousands following the sport I am leaning on incompetent as he was massively under qualified. His past experience was deputy race director of Aussie v8 and Hong Kong prix whatever those are. He was due to start directing F3 races when Charlie Whiting passed away and he got the got the gig basically because he was Australian and they didn’t want to postpone the Australian Grand Prix and the fia then did a United hatchet job and forgot to replace him with a more experienced & skilled race director.
