What can’t you do currently? 4 households together in Scotland is the only restriction I can see.
Horrendous wearing a mask. Ok.Its 3. I can’t go to work for over 50 hours a week without having to wear a mask. It’s debilitating, it’s an horrendous experience but here we are having to do it. I can’t go anywhere without a mask but again, some might accept that and have no problems but I’m afraid I do and always will do.
It’s not normal, it’s not an acceptable way of life and it never will be.
You don't have to be double or triple jabbed to get into football matches and gigs - a negative LFT will do.At least you can go to football or a concert as long as you prove that you are not unclean.
Of course, because you can still contract and pass on the virus, double vaccination doesn’t mean that, but hey ho, at least they are ”doing something”.
Horrendous wearing a mask. Ok.
Guess we have different interpretations of the word horrendous.
Obviously but then we all don’t share the same daily experiences in work do we or what we have to do to earn a crust?
I’ve done everything asked of me, always will but for a tiny minority and those who happily follow every word, it will never be enough.
To my mind, it’s not worth getting angry about. We can’t change it, so it just seems wasted energy to me.Obviously but then we all don’t share the same daily experiences in work do we or what we have to do to earn a crust?

It’s hard when after 2 years of lockdown and restrictions and having had 3 injections in still told it’s not enough?
Time to live with covid and not be ruled by it imo.
I just can’t see how the U.K. or indeed any country will be able to operate by the start of next week. If people need to isolate for ten days after testing positive, and it’s so transmissible, then transport, retail, education, heavens everything, will just have to close down for a fortnight.
It’ll be fine as long as the government don’t announce it as a lockdown.I just can’t see how the U.K. or indeed any country will be able to operate by the start of next week. For you and all others who get panic attacks use Box Breathing, it really does work. I have had heart arrhythmia (similar to Sergio) since 1990 (was 31 at the time). The irregular heartbeat causes me to get panic attacks to this day even though I take Atenolol to regulate my heartbeat.I'm 34 and got my booster tomorrow.
Feeling nervous now about having it done ffs. Especially as I already have a phobia of needles and massive anxiety around anything medical.
I had a panic attack in the waiting room when I had my first jab.

Yes.If you had a million pound in the bank, could you confidently stake every penny of it on there being absolutely nothing sinister behind all this?
Honestly, I don't think I could.
Not gonna lie, I’m preferring the news out from SA to the U.K. at the moment. What I don't quite understand is the difference in the opinion of the likes of Jenny Harris stating things such "probably the most significant threat [to public health] since the start of the pandemic". What does this mean ? Does she think it is going to kill more people than the first two waves, because that's what that statement could easily be interpreted as?
Compare that stance to the likes of experts from South Africa who are what 4 weeks?? further down the line with this variant than the rest of the world? Such as Dr Angelique Coetzee who have repeatedly stated that early indications are that the variant results in very mild illness? This is from first hand experience of them treating patients, not stats and models.
They just seem to be poles apart in their view of the severity of Omicron.
I don’t necessarily disagree about LFT’s in theory but, for them to be effective, you’d need to do them when you turned up at the event/restaurant/pub. Imagine doing a pub crawl and doing 8 LFT’s!You don't have to be double or triple jabbed to get into football matches and gigs - a negative LFT will do.
I do feel though with Omicron being far more transmissable that it should be a negative LFT for all and not just either/or
There was no requirement to wear masks during lockdown I. In fact, it was actively discouraged.London was a joke during the first lockdown, very few wearing masks compared to the rest of the country.
To my mind, it’s not worth getting angry about. We can’t change it, so it just seems wasted energy to me.
I’m sorry it upsets/angers you. Truly.
Wearing a mask is inconvenient and I have to wear contact lenses on days that I need to wear one for prolonged periods of time.
However, the actual wearing of a mask shows to me that the other person cares about what’s going on and the health of others, not just themselves.
As I pointed out yesterday, it’s reckoned that 50% of adults (20-40) in South Africa could have it at the one time, but because they don’t have the same level of restrictions in place, or testing, the country can still function. I’ve yet to hear the U.K. Government asked what it will do in that eventuality, though I suspect that at that point it will downgrade Omicron’s severity and encourage everyone back to work. Best enjoy the hibernation when it comes, I say. :-)It’ll be fine as long as the government don’t announce it as a lockdown.
If she meant that then the silly bitch should have said that. What she has said, in and of itself, isn’t backed up by the current data.Perhaps Harries was meaning the knock-on effect of a huge number of Omicron cases on the day-to-day functioning of the NHS rather than the severity of the variant itself?
