What they will do is prevent the vast majority requiring hospitalisation (we hope).And Omicron new cases 4671 is almost half of the total cases !

Shouldn't be necessary if it turns out to be a milder variant and not causing too many hospitalisations (which seems to be the info coming out of South Africa). Let's hope that's the case anyway.And Omicron new cases 4671 is almost half of the total cases !

In Manchester 20% of 55-59 year olds are unjabbed. 12-15 is 28%. That's bad. In Westminster. in 55-59 year olds its's 30% unjabbed. This if for double jabbed. There'll be a lot of immigrants in Westminster I imagine and that community doesn't get jabbed so much. Probably don't have GPsThat can't be right surely?

Had my Moderna booster at the Etihad as well this morning. Queues were huge, backing up all the way into the big main car park. Fair play to all the staff and volunteers there, it’s a monumental effort.

The [proportion of homes in which English is spoken is equivalent to the number of homes in which Bengali and Arabic are spoken. I suspect that the 2021 Census data will indicate that the populations of all, or almost all, London boroughs will be more than 50% BAME. Worth noting that Westminster is within the 30%-40% most deprived boroughs in the country.
London boroughs are the most diverse in the country. This is why it makes me laugh when someone on here claimed that Delta hit the NW before London due to the large number of Indians living up north. There is around eight times more Indians living in London then there are in Leicester (city with second biggest Indian population).
Lowest uptake for jabs are black Caribbean and some Asian communities (not all though and not uniform across the country) and then the poorest members of society. I read today a professor, whose name I have forgotten, suggested that Omicron does not seem to be affecting the lungs and it is planting itself in the throat. He explained it in a far better way though :)

I'm guessing they will say in a few months, the booster only gives you a small limited time of immunity and a new variant will come along so we have to go get the booster plus
