COVID Data Thread

Idiotic argument.
Are you not ashamed about how the elderly died in care homes ?

Are you not ashamed about the children abused at home because the schools were shut down ?

Are you not ashamed about the NHS staff who died because they didn't receive the requisite PPE equipment ?

Open your eyes to the reality of what is happening and don't believe every statistic that the media choose to highlight !

A total of 16,439 cases in the Netherlands today and, on average, 285 people have been admitted each day over the last 7 and 48 to ICU. The case totals had been dropping but now appear to be heading north again. Can’t imagine why…
Do we know how many roughly are Omicron?

And I wonder how many like me (that kind of quirky mind!) thinks O Micron (as in zero microns) would mean literally no growth at all. So a bit of a cosmic joke to be the name of a variant that tjey think is expanding faster than ever.

Yep it is just me!

Mistakes were made in a pandemic that cost lives, sosme were inevitable sone were avoidable.Should there be an inquest to hold to account, yes, to learn from mistakes ,yes. Am I personally ashamed ,no.
Nobody made decisions that cost lives to deliberately kill people so comparing what happened to what the nazis did to exterminate jews and others is the argument of a dick.

The Auschwitz museum regard comparisons of Covid policy to the Shoah as Holocaust denial.

I have never denied the Holocaust and will let history judge the comparison , as history will also judge the genocide of the Palestinians but that's another debate.

Personally I am ashamed about the treatment in the UK of the non- Covid sick, the elderly and the young during the last 18 months and I have lost friends and relatives to the adverse reactions to the vaccines, to cancer diagnosed too late as well as to Covid itself.

Hopefully 2022 will be a better year for everyone.

So in conclusion, the U.K. hasn’t treated anyone like Germany did in the holocaust.

In the parliamentary hearings with scientists earlier today they admitted to errors in the early days - the most serious of which they felt was the policy over care home residents sent back there with Covid.

Every nation will have made mistakes struggling with the unprecedented. But that always seemed a very strange thing to do when we had places like Central Station created for overspill care just like that and yet in the end used only for a party conference.

When you're arguing with the Aushwitz museum about the significance of the holocaust, it's probably time to take a pause and reflect.

It's a despicable comparison and the sign of an idiot.

No, I don’t think that has been established yet. Have to remember that the country is still in a form of evening paralysis, with bars/restaurants all closed at 6 and everything else shuttered by 5. Schools closing tomorrow, a week early, and practically everyone working from home.

Only you, I’m afraid. I just remember it’s the shortened o vowel in Greek, small o, o micro, as opposed to the lengthened o vowel, o mega, though your point still stands. Getting that in now because if we do ever get an Omega variant, it will likely claim us all before we can post anything.

Yes it is but that's not what I said.

Pity we can't have a discussion without you having to resort to insults to make your point.

The Greater Manchester numbers tonight are going to be a shock to some locals.

One borough had a daily Pop Score of over 200! Unheard of. Bet you can guess where before I post the details though.

And only 2 boroughs did NOT have a three figure Pop Score and one of them had 319 cases - so barely escaped.

Only 3 of the ten boroughs had UNDER 300 cases today.
