He’s a fucking wanker and causes more scepticism with his outlandish claims.
Like that other knobhead on Twitter someone linked to earlier - they're in it for the publicity and inevitable book deals.

Whitty strikes me as the complete opposite - he clearly detests the 'celebrity' he's gained and just wants to do his job.

I'll get you two tickets to his book tour next Christmas

We just aren't seeing the surge in hospitalisations this time. Nothing like the surge in cases anyway.
Either the booster is doing a hell of a job or this strain is milder (or both)

I'm a sample of one and therefore no basis for scientific claims but I'm into day 3 of having Covid. I'm 55 and triple jabbed .... quite clearly it's transmissible, even with vaccines, but so far I've nothing more than a bad head cold and a few aches and pains. In normal times I'd be in work with those symptoms but isolating and missing lots (including a 7-0 win) during the current hysteria. I'm not sure where the country/world goes from here but isolations, lockdowns and the destruction of the hospitality sector for what, from my experience, resembles little more than a cold?

That sums up the vast, vast majority of society at this point mate.

When did it change again that you have to isolate if someone you live with has tested positive? My wife has, but I keep getting negative tests, even had a PCR one. Track and trace said I have to isolate. I thought if we were double-jabbed etc and tested negative we could go out? Did it change back recently?

Pretty sure you don’t have to.

I thought that was the case too?

My boss's kid had covid recently and I was sat in meetings with him every day...

He was doing tests etc and was negative throughout.

You don’t need to.

This is a single early study pointing to a trend and not a conclusive argument. More data needed.
Stay under the bed for a few

Sounds absolutely ridiculous mate. How is your wife doing with the virus?

Pretty sure you don’t have to.

You know what, ive just re-read the email. They word it in a way to make you feel like you have to be in...

"NHS Test and Trace has identified you as a contact of someone who recently tested positive for COVID-19. Unless you are exempt, it is your legal duty to stay at home and self-isolate. You must self-isolate until 24th of December (including this date)."

I presumed exempt was key worker or something. Just googled it and it means anyone double-jabbed. They certainly don't fucking mention that in the email! I definitely should have paid more attention though. Just presumed I was stuck in now.
