ZOE APP NUMBERS

Gigantic rise here in past 24 hours.

Records falling everywhere and North West up by the most ever in the region.

Predicted cases 105, 171 - first time over 100K and UP by a record number too from 88,841 yesterday

Ongoing cases also up by much more than yesterday - on 1,220,657 - a rise of 24,619 on yesterday & from 1.119,531 last Friday.

1,222,218 is the highest ever ongoing UK cases recorded by Zoe. As you can see we will be well over that by tomorrow.

ZOE APP REGIONS

Zoe shooting up ths fast was inevitable. But the regional numbers tell you where things are worst and Omicron is accelerating.

Here are the big rises from yesterday to today

LONDON stays at number 1 as it has been on Zoe for a three days.

UP from 1645 / 1973 TO 2752 / 3149 in just 24 HOURS!

Needless to say these are numbers and rises in one day totally unprecedented since Zoe began. They literally blow out f the water by a factor of about 10 any other day to dsay rises we have seen.

London is far and away driving things on Zoe as in the real cases.

Second are South East who have by the above standards 'inched' up! UP from 1434 / 1670 TO 1590 / 1833

North West is only in sixth place (up from tenth yesterday) but its rise is only second to London

UP from 930 / 1266 TO 129 / 1614 - by mies the biggest daily rise here to the highest number I can recall too.

The next few days are only going one way and I imagine the other regions will jump similarly in days to come.

93, 045 cases

Not on the face of it a disastrous rise.

111 all settings deaths - DOWN from 120 last Friday

England only 98 V 90 last week

Pillar 1 & 2 tests today 1,585,499 V 1,629,971 yesterday & 1,306, 436 last Friday.

Last Friday there were 58,194 cases for the record.

THe Thursday to Friday rise LAST Friday was 7327 V this Friday 9766

SOUTH EAST UP from 13,568 TO 14,959. Was 9614 last Friday

First time 3 have been in five figures.

NORTH WEST UP from 7787 TO 7999. Was 4886 last Friday.

Yorkshire, South West and West MIdlands actually fell from yesterday. But North East on 2513 one of its highest totals recently. Though it has been higher.

ENGLAND HOSPITAL SUMMARY

ADMISSIONS : - From Wednesday (always 2 days behind the rest of the data)

805 - up from 754 last week

London unsurprisingly up wk to wk the most 132 to 201 (highest I recall in one day here)

NE & Yorkshire up too 102 to 108

North West down 104 to 100. And Midlands down most 131 to 117.

No doubt who has the worst problem right now. The one with by far the biggest case rises.

PATIENTS From Today as are the rest of the numbers:-

DOWN by 84 to 6321. Which is UP week to week by 233 from 6088

Last Friday was DOWN 42 to 6088 which was UP week to week by 237 from 5851.

So really pretty flat week to week with a very small increase.

Regionally:-

London unsurprisingly the big riser - UP 74 today to 1534 - which is UP week to week from 1193

The only other riser is North West - UP 11 today to 859 - which is UP week to week from 829

The other regions fall East by 19 to 603, Midlands by 35 to 1167, NE & Yorkshire by 47 to 828 (now below NW), South East by 22 to 806 & South West by 46 tp 524

AS YOU CAN SEE LONDON AND THE NORTH WEST ARE BY FAR THE TWO REGIONS SEEMINGLY GOING UP IN PATIENTS RIGHT NOW DESPITE EAST AND SOUTH EAST HAVING MORE CASES THAN NW IN PAST FEW DAYS. OMICRON IS REPORTEDLY OVER 50% IN BOTH LONDON AND NORTH WEST NOW.

VENTILATORS

UP by 6 to 789 Which is DOWN week to week by 4 from 793

Last Friday was UP 1 to 793 which was UP week to week by 10 from 783.

So really still flat week to week
.

Regionally:-

London unsurprisingly the big riser here too - UP 9 today to 208 - which is UP week to week from 201

The only other risers were South East - UP 5 today to 92 - which is down 3 from 95 week to week. AND South West - UP 1 today to 63 - which is up 3 from 60 week to week.

North West - DOWN 2 today to 95 - which is DOWN week to week from 108

The other regions are East DOWN by 3 to 80 (up 3 in wk), Midlands DOWN by 3 to 148 (flat in wk), NE & Yorkshire DOWN by 1 to 103 (down 6 in wk)

Do you know what the test positivity rate is on the cases?

The test numbers are given in the post - England never give a positivity number but you can roughly work it out for the UK by dividing cases into tests.

Or England alone:-

England had 83,693 cases from 1,470,822 tests.

But it has several problems doing it that way so I never try.

5.6% cheers

5.6% cheers
Which is pretty unlikely as it is so low - hence my post about why I do not do it.

There are 9 regions. They are all at very different stages of Omicron in the mix as the numbers show. So that kind of raw calculation is going to be misleading.

London will be MILES above the rest and had over one quarter of all the cases in the UK today!

Greater Manchester was as expected full of more new highs and multiple three figure Pop rises

Though not as many real highs as yesterday and hard to say who had the worst day - though Stockport certainly is one and they had a much worse day than yesterday with a new highest ever case number (453) and Pop Score and giving Bolton (who did a bit better - though like everyone still well up week to week) the chance to really close in on Stockport. At present rates Bolton WILL have the lowest overall Pop Score in GM within days. Bolton up just 89 V Stockport up 154 means a 65 claw back in one go to just now be 124 behind - which could see Bolton lowest in GM early next week if similar differences continue.

Bury and Salford both actually had higher Pop Scores than Stockport today but due to population size locally lower case totals.

Manchester also had a new high - topping 800 cases for the first time on 816. Up a staggering 449 in the week!

Oldham far and away had the best day - the only one sub 200 on 183.

Update to Omicron cases, hospitalisations etc
Its a bit of a concern they have lumped S-gene drop out (SGTF) and some n
other test results together in the new Omicron surveillance report.
Call me a sceptic if you wish. But both need to be reported separately. Both the BA.1 (S-Gene drop out) and BA.2 (No S-Gene drop out) versions of Omicron are here and both are equally as infectious.
Loons will say they are trying to palm off Delta cases as Omicron!
Publish the truth not manipulated truth.
