I'm not expecting sympathy. I'm having a discussion and explaining my opinion. I'm not particularly bothered about anyone's sympathy. We're just discussing Chelsea in a Chelsea thread.
You’re discussing Chelsea with a few others on a Manchester City forum. Fair enough….but it’s mainly you isn’t it?? Not for me. All the best.

Yes, for me it’s not the numbers, it’s the pattern of infection. If say 4/5 test positive on the Monday then no more, crack on. If it’s 1 a day and the total is the same, then it should be off.

Playing today seems very harsh. Those points dropped will be hard to make up on us.

We now have a point advantage, a fully fit squad, and having played at Leicester, Swamp, the Bridge & Anfield already.

Any points we make up on you and Liverpool over Christmas will be key..

Yeah, agree. Tuchel said its been a positive case for 4 consecutive days now.

I've given up on the title to be honest with you. I don't see us making up the gap now. Our hope rested on building up a gap while we were in form and then absorbing the points dropped at a later date. We're an interior team and we won't catch you now that you have a decent cushion between us.

I agree that with so many out, your game should have been postponed today.

There is just no consistency, if as reported, the rags only had two players and two other members of staff, who tested positive.

I suppose it comes down to what colour your shirt is.

Yeah, feel bad for other teams too. Everton basically put out an academy side plus a couple of first team and fringe players against us. They sneaked a draw but it felt very unfair on them.

Your problem is that you believe those reports.

Yeah it's a City forum but yeah I like to jump on here every now and again to discuss Chelsea with City fans. I don't post on this site daily, but I enjoy chatting with City fans once in a while and just giving my perspective on my club.

Can only be to apply the rules equally especially when Aston Villa postponed their game with two hours notice yesterday.

Just builds into the narrative of some of the more paranoid fans when it should be about safety of the players and public and integrity of the sport.

Tommy Toucans struggling with the rigours of the Winter fixtures coming in thick and fast.

Pep and Plopp weren't happy bunnies the first time they experienced the UK tradition of the Christmas period games in their first seasons.

Surprised the chavs have lost ground this side of Christmas. If Covid is that bad in the Chelsea squad then it should have been called off. Seems one rule for the reds and one rule for the rest.

If I was you @Vialli98, I would demand an investigation from Everton ;)

Joking aside, you are going through a tough patch. City will hit one at some point courtesy of the bent officials. The league is not won in December.

Anyway, I have little sympathy for your recent plight. You managed to take a champions league off us and for that reason alone I don’t care.

seems crazy that the game wasn’t postponed I don’t understand the inconsistency in calling games off most of us were expecting it to be.
its worth pointing out that our bench had two keepers and three u23 players too due to both covid and injuries, that wouldn’t get mentioned on sky.

Chelsea aren't even doing that badly. It's just City and Liverpool under Pep and Klopp have made it so that you need to be pretty flawless in order to succeed.

It's really on Tuchel to figure something out here. I just don't rate Chelsea's squad the way I do the other 2 as far as individual quality is concerned. So getting those ugly three points is the real challenge, especially when you don't have your defenders scoring like they did.

I really think it's best for all involved to suspend the league. I know it's probably the most inconvenient for City as you're in superb form and look like you could build a sizeable gap to Chelsea and Liverpool but I really think they need to give teams some time get control of this. But then again, if the wider public aren't in any lockdown then does it really matter as the players live amongst the public and could get it at any time anyway. Don't know what the answer is, I just know I'm not going into any game on the next couple of weeks being particularly bothered about winning or losing.

That would be, because you're not top of the league ???

I mean I figured some would look at my post from that perspective but not really that isn't why I think this. For what it's worth, I no longer have any designs on winning the title. Its a 2 horse race at far as I'm concerned.

Sorry, it was mean't to be a bit tongue in cheek. It does read a bit like you're not bothered anymore because
Chelsea are having a bit of a downturn.

I just wish there was more clarity as to what criteria need to be met to postpone a match because of covid.

The media and fans don’t know, but Tuchel and all the other managers do and cry foul when a request doesn’t go their way without saying why. They must know whether the judgement is correct or not.
