Why has it taken so long for Tuchel to play Lukaku? I don't get it? Single-handedly demolished Villa in the 2nd half.

City risk dropping points at Arsenal after their next game got postponed so I am counting on Chelsea taking points off Liverpool at the weekend. I think CFC have been unlucky with injuries in recent weeks but as far as I know, lukaku has been available for some time and they just haven't played him.

Chelsea want to keep him but they're not willing to offer him the wages he wants. He can get a lot more by signing with Real Madrid as a free agent than he can hope to get at Chelsea. He's only on 100k a week so one of the lowest paid members of the first team. Werner for example, is on 272k a week, so I understand Rudiger's gripe with the offer that's on the table, which is reportedly around 190k a week.
Fuck me!
An offer of £30m in wages over three years has insulted the poor love
I really don't know how footballers survive

I know you're saying this in jest but what would you do if you were one of the top performers in the team but also one of the lowest earners in the team? He earns less than CHO, RLC, Alonso, Kepa etc. If you can get close to 250k or more elsewhere, why would a 190k offer be satisfactory?

Surprised they're not renewing his contract but I'll be glad to not see him in this league anymore, complete twat (I imagine Chelsea fans love him though).

I would say good business for Real Madrid to get him and Mbappe on a free but with signing on fees, agent fees and wages, it'll be costing them a fucking fortune anyway.

You can see the picture opening up for Madrid?

Rudiger, Mbappe, Pogba and Haaland for a total of £70m would be incredible business by them.

According to Tuchel, he just isn't ready for 90 mins. He didn't even want to play him yesterday because Lukaku spent 10 days in bed with covid and returned to training just 2 days ago, so he feels it's irresponsible, and not fair to Lukaku, to throw him straight into a PL match.

Chelsea now lost Kante again to the same knee injury.

Thiago also out for at least a month with a hamstring issue.

Be costing them at least 2 million a week adding 100m a year to there wage bill plus any signing on fee.

That's not much of an add when you consider the true cost of those players on the open market is roughly £600m!

Bale's wages alone will be coming off at £31.2m. Adding £70m to the wage bill for those four players would be worth it to them.

And that's without them perhaps selling someone?

I just don't think it is that unrealistic to think they could not do at least three of those players.

Hopefully leaving Haaland to us!

and there it is, all that is wrong in football being defended by a normal working man.

I fucking hate football sometimes.

In all honesty, I've been there
I had a job that paid extremely well and I was performing as well, if not better, than a couple of colleagues that were earning more
Instead of focusing on what I didn't have I concentrated on what I did have. I wasn't going to let it chew me up as I knew how fortunate I was compared to someone earning an average salary
But my circumstances were different to Rudiger's
I knew it'd be very difficult to find another position that would pay me that amount, whereas in football there are clubs lining up to pay obscene salaries

Well he's the only 1 of the 4 worth signing unless your only objectives are to sell shirts and copies of FIFA

But what would you have done if you were literally holding contract talks because your current one was expiring and you had offers from other places far exceeding what your current company were willing to offer, which was still lower than your lesser performing colleagues?

Do you really need it explained to you?

A guy earning what 30k a year defending a footballer turning down a 3 year 30m contract because he might make another 10m elsewhere.

Is that easier for you to understand, I wasn't slagging you off, I wasn't slagging Chelsea off, just entitled overpaid footballers.

ie I hate football sometimes.

Are we talking lottery winning money (footballer's wages) or my extremely well paid salary?

Both. Rudiger is obviously living and working in an alternate reality but the concept is the same. If you're a top 3 performer in your team but you're outside the top 10 earners in your team, when it's time to renegotiate contracts, that disparity will be get emphasised.
