Leicester City (H) - Post-Match Thread

We have a great team, a really great team, I never thought I'd see one like it
anywhere, let alone at City, the football we play is like no other team, Pep
is a fucking genius.
Yep. I'm not sure our fans will appreciate exactly what we have until it's gone.

To be honest, I had my head in my hands but it put the edge back into the crowd and it was an enjoyable game, always is when it's closer and you have points on the line.
A lot around me were doing that “typical city”’thing at 4-3 but it’s a true measure of how great this team are that I never doubted we’d win for a millisecond.

in all my time as a football fan no pundit as ever made a good coach or manager and its the reason they talk shit and get well paid for it. they no nothing about the game other than to hold a debate just like you and me down the pub

they say talk is cheap well not at the BBC or skysports ? money for old rope
However, I find that some ex-managers do make quite good co-commentators. They tend to be less biased and offer a better insight than a lot of ex-players, most of whom don't even a grasp of the language let alone football. I always found managers such as Jimmy Armfield, David Pleat, Phil Brown and even Tony Pulis knew their stuff. As always, there are exceptions - Glen Fuddle for one.

Anyone who's played the game at any standard knows what it's like to come in at half time and feel you've got the game in the bag already. It's really difficult to maintain the energy levels and it's obvious the team were flat at the start of the second half. To be honest when Leicester's third goal went in I was worried because once a team's energy levels drop it's so difficult to get them back up again and all the momentum was with Leicester. Just goes to show how fucking brilliant this team is because they were able to do that and finish the game off quite comfortably in the end. I'm sure Pep will have had a bit of a dig at them because there was a hint of complacency about that start to the second half, but it could be a good thing in the long run because that kick up the arse should ensure it doesn't happen again and three points went into the bank anyway.

Don't think Pep told Dias to do anything - the player himself was overly cautious in trying to avoid picking up a yellow and therefore being banned and that was a major cause in Leicester's first goal.
The commentator on the stream I was watching, pointed out that, for the second Leicester goal, Dias played Kelichi onside by chasing back. If Dias had remained still, offside would have been given, no need to even attempt a tackle.

I enjoy the media's bias against us I know it comes from desperation and anger that a City title winning season makes them less money than a United or a liverpool title winning season and they really dont like that. And I think that's funny.
And yet, the PL has never been so popular. It's almost like we're being painted as the pantomime villain.
"They're behind you!"
"Again? Yes they are"

I think he was caught out by the pass from Kelechi and the first touch and then finish by Lookman. The first goal was much more of a case of playing it safe from Dias and almost pulling out of a challenge.

Should Ederson work on his technique ? For the third goal and also Maddison's free kick in the first half, I think he should be getting those up and over the bar and behind for a corner.

think with the goal he was caught out by a bit of a late swerve on the ball

In a nation of underdog lovers, would you honestly expect the majority to root for you? Yesterday, when it got to 4-3, every neutral was always likely to root for Leicester.

Price of success. Embrace it, don’t look for validation from non-fans.
It wasn’t fans, though. It was the supposedly impartial national broadcaster

He did brilliantly to get anywhere near either. He was intending to do exactly what you said but easier said than done if the shot is hard enough.
Pretty ridiculous to single him out compared to the other non-performances imo

Souness is the best TV pundit by a country mile

He got a solid hand to it but needed more immediate elevation on his deflection to get it over the bar. I thought as much at the game yesterday and watching Maddison's free kick on Sky I think he could have done the same with that too.

not many good managers do loads of tv work maybe a guest in world cups or euros
but top premier league managers nope they are always in work

I was offering a point up for discussion to see if others thought the same as I did. If you find that ridiculous then that's on you.

I thought Cancelo was caught on the wrong side for the second goal. He didn’t exactly race to get back and cover Dias right shoulder.
Did Laporte slip on the first ?
On the third that was millimetres from going for a corner.
If my aunties had balls etc but only my viewpoint.
Great to see Raz in the groove and could have taken home the match ball.
