WTF You were discussing Rudiger going to RM for 60k a week more than what he is on at Chelsea, that is talking about wages, fucking seriously.

So you have seen your arse because I said a normal guy earning 30k a week is 'defending' a footballer's wage demands, wow.

I have said nothing different to @dickie davies and like I said I was not slagging you off in the slightest but yeah, you carry on.

Yeah but we're talking about wages within the context of football. You pointing out that he's already a millionaire is neither here nor there. We already know wages in football are obscene. I wasn't defending it. I was discussing it. But yeah, happy to leave it there.

But in this context it is everything, having a bank full of money means, as Dickie Davis has already said, he could sign a new contract at Chelsea for the same wage if his family or indeed himself are settled in London, kids in good schools etc, signing for RM for 60k a week more is meaningless if his wife said I'd rather stop in London thanks, as the extra money is hardly required when you are already set to earn a piffling 30m if you like, is a drop in the ocean when you already get paid extremely well.

My original reply was to you saying

what would you do if you were one of the top performers in the team but also one of the lowest earners in the team? He earns less than CHO, RLC, Alonso, Kepa etc. If you can get close to 250k or more elsewhere, why would a 190k offer be satisfactory?

The above becomes more of a pride thing, they need to be earning the same or their feelings will get butthurt, hence me saying everything wrong in football, especially the bolded bit but yeah, that is my last post, I've better things to be getting on with tbh.

Wages are coming close to being unsustainable IMO even for clubs like ours, all because they want a comparative wage.

Like Sterling seeking to be paid the same as KDB, then any new signing will want the same or more if it is Haaland, then the next time contract talks come around, they will all want bumped up again, Bernardo will be saying, hey, I outplayed KDB all season, I'm worth 400 or 500k a week and then what in another 10 years time.

Richer footballers, with skint fans unable to afford the ticket prices, while the former live a life of luxury, more more more.

You can see the picture opening up for Madrid?

Rudiger, Mbappe, Pogba and Haaland for a total of £70m would be incredible business by them.
It's possible but all 4 would set them back a cool £550m over 5 years at the very least
Another 95m a year wage increase
Agent fees would be best part of £75m & god knows how much each would want for signing maybe a combined £60m?

""I told the coach I am multidimensional..."
Explains why he appears to go missing so often
I think he gives a good explanation in the video. I’m assuming they sat down after Tuchel showed he didn’t know what to do with him in the beginning of this season

and there it is, all that is wrong in football being defended by a normal working man.

I fucking hate football sometimes.
Do you hate movies too, or does the high pay of elite actors not bother you?

Chilwell has been ruled out for the season. We're apparently looking to bring in Digne in January.

Don't forget tennis, baseball, NFL but most of all don't confuse a working man's sport with acting you pedantic ****

If you're happy for footballers to be earning 500k a week then that is your opinion, I think it is obscene and that is my opinion.

I think every man and his dog knew Chilwell was out for the season, don’t know why Chelsea tried to hide this by saying he might be back by Xmas, strange.

No idea either. I think they were hoping he wouldn't need surgery on the ACL and it wouldn't hurt to wait because once you have the surgery the season is done. But yeah, I don't think anyone was out here hoping we'd have him back after Christmas.

Fair enough, I hope Chilwell makes a quick recovery and you guys get decent cover at left back to make you competitive for the rest of the season.

Thanks mate. Digne seems to be the guy all the journalists are talking about. He's fallen out with Rafa and Everton appear to have already signed his replacement. I'd be fine with signing him.

Good player and I think he’s your type of player so to speak, I presume the fee won’t be too much as well.

It feels like Chelsea are suffering the opposite side of their previous xG fortunes. I think the injuries have taken them out of that "zone"
