Thought Pep managed this one superbly. The belief this team has is unreal. Phil is just unplayable no matter which position you put him in. Signs of a world class player. Incredible how well Pep has managed him and is doing the same with Palmer. A very big shout out to Eddie has made some very important saves last few games. Still don’t think Bernie is as influential when Kev plays as well. Think we missed Raz last night, he’s back in form and gives us that extra spark up front. Ake was more like the player we bought last night. Really hope we don’t lose him this summer. Still think Jack needs time to settle in, but he’s definitely playing safety first and not taking players on. Seems to be lacking confidence but hopefully that will come. Love Peps comments about the title ‘54’ points to play for. Pep has the team in the groove and focused on the next game. Going to be very tough but win the next two and it gets very interesting.

I'm getting a bit concerned with grealish. I Spent the last hour of the game wishing Raz would replace him and speed things up a bit.

I was shouting like mad to change it up espeacialy Grealish but he couldn't get into any of the spaces especially behind Brentford were so compact just look how Berny played he to found the angles difficult

It's keep ball & retention if Jack ran that ball in & lost it everytime Pep would go fucking bananas & drag him off

Unfortunately for Jack these games are a tough watch Brentford never looked arsed all about not losing 4 or 5-0 thats my opinion
Now the Arsenal game is different they will leave space behind & in front for Jack but he will be benched & Sterling back in along with Gundagun & Mahrez imo

I will only say there was a magnitude of order difference in the two events.

Toney should have been sent off. He stands on him with his left and kicks him with his right, and that’s after 2 footed jumping at Ferna WHILE HE IS ON THE GROUND, long after the play is whistled dead.

If Toney had left something on Ferna in a challenge, I’d have said “Fair do’s!” but this was quite different, obvious and cowardly.

All things considered that was an excellent performance. We don’t have to be 3/4 nil up by 70 minutes. We kept the ball well we played most of the game in their half of the pitch. They didn’t have a sniff whatsoever in the 2nd half and a lot of credit has to go to the lads for that. In all honesty we looked quite comfortable no matter what any commentary team want to portray.

Ake was very good and Foden is just unreal. Loved Fernandinho and his shithousery. Grealish I think is still adjusting. It’s important that even in the final 3rd we keep the ball and don’t give it away cheaply so that we don’t get countered on. As much as Fernandinho is still a good player he doesn’t have the legs to be chasing back time and time again. So although he didn’t set the world alight last night he did what was asked of him and contributed to a very big win.

This is a bastard part of the season with the amount of games we are playing and one of the only teams not to have had games called off due to COVID so I think all things considered we are doing amazingly well.

Ain't that the truth, though? We had our full team out. They had hardly any normal first team starters. They gave us a game.
No problems with Brentford as a team, or their supporters, personally.

It was like they had a list of songs given them on a song sheet, and they sang them in a random order. Can you hear city sing when all you could hear was us. Nice to know you’re hear. 1-0 to the referee wtf was that about? The you’re shit ah. It was just surreal none of the songs seemed to be in context. Very strange fans.

I agree that Brentford did what they had to do last night but it doesn’t make it any more palatable seeing a team park a bus at home in the manner they did. That pitch was awful too and made it hard for us to play our normal free flowing game .. A very good 3 points and well done to the lads, what a team we have..

Brentford are a very good league 1 side and I hope they slide back down there soon .. Mard arsed cunts..!!!!

Did think Toney was a wanker throughout the game, real snide one. Brentford were very limited and their game plan was to keep the score down. Most times they had a minimum of 8 behind the ball, including a back 6. They have done reasonably well with the resources they have and made it really difficult for us.

Think Brentford is the ground you see when landing at Heathrow. Suspect their attendance last night was full of non bees fans.

We put in a thoroughly professional performance and the 2 offsides were a damn sight more marginal than I thought last night.

Some players looked tired last night, Ake and Phil both shone. Jack played it a bit safe and I felt could have got more involved.

What I find upsetting is fellow blues calling for grealish to be sold, or that Cancelo is a ****, Jesus is shit etc. They put the shirt on, they deserve our support throughout the game.

I've called out Rodri, Gundogan, Stones, Raz, Jesus,. Cancelo in the past......shows how little I know about football!

It does take players time to get what Pep wants. Players can also have off games without being cunts. Just get behind the team.

Ground it out, Fernandinho needs to give his head a wobble though. Thought Dias had an uncharacteristic panic in the first half after giving the ball away, but I credit Ake a lot with being exceptionally aware in our back line. Covered left back and centre back well and for over the halfway look one, something he's been hesitant to do previously for us.

Hope we don't have too many bruises today, a lot of ankle tapping going on last night.

Yeah, that would be the 2 goalkeepers, one free and one about £5m, the two youth players, zinchenko at under £2m, alongside Sterling, Mahrez and Gundogan. I love it when we just have to name our line up and we're automatically awarded the 3 points...FFS

The fact that others see us as oil financed cheaters with a bigger squad than everyone else may rile us for being ignorantly inaccurate and not giving any credit to the way we play, what we've won and the money we've actually earned through success and sales, but it's also a great weapon in our title challenge...

No point in trying to compete with city because they will just buy another superstar, when we probably won't and if we do the effort in integrating them is huge and potentially destabilising, but if translates to them giving up, not questioning when they don't splash their own cash, and they're not pushing for that 95th min winner.

So, we get the winners prize money, buy a new player, and their prophecy is self fulfilled :)

It's just not fair I say! City keep buying players well within their budget, working harder than anyone else and playing better than anyone else, how on earth is anyone supposed to compete with that?

Well how about less moaning and more effort? You can only beat what is in front of you, is the famous phrase. Well we're in front, right at the top, rise to the challenge or don't, but don't moan about how big the mountain is if you actually have any ambition of climbing it.

Most premier league pitches are cut around 20 to 25 mm

At 10mm jump in height is a big increase.

I dont know who's job it is to measure the length before kick off and if a prism is used to measure and what percentage has to be within the range.

Watched it with the commentary switched off for the first time last night, miles better and gives a different view in the game. I thought the ref was good and favoured us, their fans were shit, complete with the usual nu-fan bollocks, one nil and you still don't sing (we did) and wwywyws, do they realise how small time they are?

Just had a look myself. Definitely full of cockney rags and dippers. When you look at their attendances from 10 years ago, well over half their fans must have come from somewhere else.
