What a way to spend a few hours with your family over a busy xmas/new year hey? Minding your own business at home,and some shitty scrotes invade that space to take something for nothing.

If it was spur of the moment maybe but if this was a professional job the timing probably was dependent on a number of factors.
Obviously information regarding ones location is a key security factor but footballers are habitually away from home all the time and as such present a lot of opportunity for thieves.
Thankfully he and his family appear relatively
unscathed as this could have ended up much worse.
In the short term I am sure the club, players and their families will rally around to provide support. Moving forward I fear this will be something which has the capacity to make one fearful of one's living environment and may give rise to a desire to move on. However, is such an incident any less likely to happen in Lisbon or Madrid?

That's a good point.

People just dont think do they. I have a well of mate and about 10 years ago he posted a picture of him and his missus at the X Factor finals as the show was on. My ex showed me it on Facebook. I text him saying thanks for letting me know your house is empty with a mojo of a burglar.

The club will learn from this I think, announcing everywhere where the squad will be, then to change last minute, is a bit daft.
 
Hopefully they are all ok & that this won't put his Wife off living over here, i know it could happen anywhere but these things can have a huge psychological effect on a family

didn't something similar happen to Ricky Hatton a few years ago?
He posted on his twitter account he would be away and ended up being robbed.
 
Does nobody know in which district of Greater Manchester the Cancelos reside? Many rich footballers have houses in Cheshire I believe. As for the family, they should be put on a chartered plane back to Portugal for the New Year, leaving Home Alone type gadgetry in their house/apartment here. Probable dirty Scousers involved.

He might have done. But Cancelo where abouts were broadcast by Amazon, he hadnt said where he would be. Amazon put his family in danger by broadcasting the fact in would be in London. OK abit of an over reaction !

Ok I am 100% sure Amazon didnt mean to put anyone in danger and I am sure the commentator didnt mean to. Perhaps in future TV companys dont give out personal information about the players or teams whereabouts. Like I say I dont think it was meant and it was a comment in response to City having two London based games in a short space of time.

Undoubtedly Amazon may have been a contributory factor after broadcasting what they did, but I doubt that the commentator would have mentioned them staying in London without some type of guidance or acknowledgment from City, however innocent in its nature. If I recall, the commentator presented it as a fact rather than a suggestion.

Any discussion about travel plans simply can’t be divulged now given the amount of scumbags knocking about and their readiness to go into houses even if they’re occupied. That said, the arseholes must still have been expecting his family to be in the house when they burst in, they just probably didn’t expect Cancelo to be there too.

The manned guarding is part of the service for City players and they regularly patrols places like Fletsland and can be seen parked continually outside the players houses

There are numerous occasions where players homes have been targetted whilst they are playing. Its not the broadcasters fault then, and it isnt here.

There are four cunts that are solely responsible for this. No one else.

Yes I appreciate that when games are on the players arent at home. But the broadcaster said the players wouldn't home for at least 4 days !

I agree that fact might have nothing to do with the burglary but in future the broadcasting company shouldnt give out the players whereabouts ;)
