BBC bashing is tedious, it's pretty obvious smaller shitter news channels like GB news etc drive the anti BBC agenda and people jump on the bandwagon

No, I know somebody that had previously had a heart attack ,who though he was having another and his wife panicked called an ambulance. When he got to hospital it was to his and her great embarrasment bad indigestion.

I based my statement on the form they have for doing this, you are picking one piece of evidence where they have reported something correctly for a change. And yes you do like arguing with people, you should check your post history, although sometimes what's obvious to others isn't to the offender.

I do , Its the headlines they use and often the deliberate omission of positive news that I find poor. of course for those that like wallowing in bad news like yourself its entirely appropriate and fitting.

Here we go , the same insults , if you cant see past a headline then that is up to you , they can only do headline numbers and then the details most people want , there is no need for pages every day now

How do you come to that conclusion? I have never watched GB news? I just like good journalism and balanced reporting. Not doomoungering headlines and scaremongering. You will note the media and the BBC have form for both. They created the petrol shortages by causing panic buying a couple of months ago and they did the same for the shortage of LFTs last week.
 
Is there any information yet about any potential long term effects of Omicron one way or another?

No insult Kaz, But you do come across as a glass half full person, who does tend to pick up on all bad news to do with covid ?

people need to hear the facts. if you don't treat them like grown ups, then they will resent it and start to doubt that they're being told the truth. the outcomes of that are no better whatsoever for a democracy.

When there was bad news i didnt stick my fingers in my ears and go lalala but tried to discuss it with the medical knowledge i have , call that what you want , no offence but i wont be answering any further , everything i said like second and third waves etc and lockdowns was right which is all i need to know
 
On the question of the BBC I know I started this by saying I hoped the media spotted the reason the deaths were so high. Because they do not always. So it was a caveat worth applying.

I certainly do not go in for BBC bashing as such despite possibly being the only person on this thread (or maybe not) who has been employed by them, written and presented programmes for them and have first hand seen how they can manipulate the story to get better publicity and gain ratings.

Not saying it happens often or with ill intent. Sure it does not. Nor that the BBC are the only ones who do this. Far from it. It is common for the media to have an agenda - or rather as they will put it to have an audience they are aiming to attract.

Happy they spotted why the numbers were high. As yesterday some did and others did not with the multiple days of Northern Ireland numbers that created the 30,000 cases that caused the UK numbers to have a record total.

I mentioned these things in case the media source someone here sees misses the reason. If the journalist is good it does not happen. Not all journalists are. That is all I would say.
