When there was bad news i didnt stick my fingers in my ears and go lalala but tried to discuss it with the medical knowledge i have , call that what you want , no offence but i wont be answering any further , everything i said like second and third waves etc and lockdowns was right which is all i need to know
I can only call it as i see it?

Good journalism would be to look at the deaths data and after a quick bit of simple maths work out that the average daily death rate for covid hasn't gone up since the start of Dec. Wow ! No increase yet, despite Omicron !! But oh no that is just a little too much like hard work for some journalists! The BBC have reported the 334 but said it includes a backlog of death data Sky news are worse in that they have reported the 334 deaths as the highest since March 2. But clearly there isn't an agenda for some.

sky news :

The number of deaths - the highest reported since 2 March - includes a backlog of some data from NHS England stretching back to New Year's Day

i think you're the one with the agenda here

Maybe you've got a sensitivity to communication, like me, but in the opposite direction. Perhaps people like us ought to reassure each other, rather than bicker. All I can say is, I did note the BBC yesterday ran this story:

Personally, I couldn't stop myself from rolling my eyes scornfully - but it would probably help reassure you they are not entirely focused on doom mongering. Stories written with different focus, that appear to send a different message, on the same issue, are inevitable. I can hear my dad constantly in my head trying to get me to say that is for the best, and that all we can really hope for is there is honesty and an overall balance.

Sure its not incorrect but what relevance has the 334 got to do with it being the highest since March? When the average daily death rate since the beginning of Dec hasn't actually gone up? Surely reporting that little detail instead of highlighting the 334 would be better?

I will be honest with you, I did read that article and found it very refreshing ! a nice change.

Ridiculously tired.

Had no symptoms as well.
Always gets better. I had to have a bunch of days at home recently but getting out for a walk and a sit in the sun these last couple of days has really, really helped. Feeling bright and positive again. Eat well and keep your mind occupied, but feel free to give the arguments around COVID / the news / social media a miss for the foreseeable.

The BBC have a Winter Walks series last thing at night on BBC 4, which I'm watching before going to bed. It's so peaceful and clears my mind completely. I'm sleeping better, which is really important when you're recovering and still have fatigue. Definitely worth giving something like that a shot.
