Anyone think City are greatly responsible for Uniteds demise? I do. We've stopped them winning the title (I suppose), we've stopped them winning other things, we've battered them and battered them over the years.

They've had to spend to keep up and its all been wasted! We go for Sanchez, they have to get him first, same with Ronaldo, Fred, Maguire. More than any other club they've tried to keep up with us, not liverpool or chelsea... It just feels that way. Makes me happy.
We did not go for Ronaldo.
He was offered to us.
We weren’t interested.
Woodward shat himself and thought we were bluffing.

Now 17 players want to leave Old Trafford...

Where do they think they are going? Martial couldn't find a club in the McVities factory.
Nicked of @arghkid of twatter !
From BBC Gossip:
Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo, 36, could leave Manchester United this summer if he does not approve of the club's choice of permanent manager

what a mess they are in, player power, reported splits in the camp and Woodwards replacement was employed in 2013 with a remit of modernise the stadium and build bridges with fans. Over 8 years later the stadium is still a wreck, fans forcing postponement, womens manager walking out over lack of facilities etc. Most businesses this lack of progress be a sacking, Rags promote instead

I think the words City and United are synonymous with our respective clubs. There is generally no need to prefix either with Manchester. Other Citys and Uniteds are known by their town names. E.g. Newcastle, Exeter, Norwich, Peterborough etc. Occasionally, they are spoken in full, but that is usually when there is another club from the same city - Bristol, Oxford. On rare occasions the full name is used outside of these conditions - York City and Cambridge United as examples.

But when anyone says City, or United, it is accepted that they are referring to the Manchester clubs. This habit of always using Manchester United in full must be because of some insistence or directive from the club itself. Maybe they are worried that the rules that apply to food marketing will transfer to football clubs, and they might have to drop the Manchester from their title and become Trafford United, or Greater Manchester United. We can but hope.
It was always shown as Man U in the football results in the papers in the 70s and that became Man Yoo especially by the plastic brigade.
It was so common l think that there was indeed a directive to have it used in full as Manchester especially as it goes against the trend to abbreviate anything and everything else.
I wish City used Manchester in full on the website.
