As an Englishman I’m unhappy we don’t have our own parliament and just get swept up into the UK government.Stupid idea to give Scotland and Wales their own Parliaments, without giving England the same option. Stupid idea from Tony Blair, who also cost a lot of British lives and limbs and mental health, in those imaginary weapons of mass distruction, and who has just been knighted. I am no fan of Boris, but a few parties in Downing Street seem like small fry in comparison. That said, those parties were an abomination and so insensitive.
Dentists are oral surgeons, so doctors who specialize in that part of the body. In Leitch’s case, he is also an academic doctor, so I think he meets the job criteria. He is a dentist. Can you get a sick note from him? No. He is not a doctor.
Not sure the two are connected. Nobody outside of England is stopping the country having an English parliament. There just doesn’t seem to be demand in England for one. Some people favour greater regional autonomy, some people want a separate English parliament, and some people want the current situation to continue. I think the English Democrats are the only party advocating the creation of an English parliament. As an Englishman I’m unhappy we don’t have our own parliament and just get swept up into the UK government.
We should have an assembly somewhere in the midlands or north that should have the same powers Holyrood does.
I think we’ve got the bad end of the stick in this union.
That’s because they’re not a unionist party and the rest are. England has been swept up in the union flag and for the worst. Many I speak to want an English Parliament too and I think if England got an independence vote, we wouldn’t bottle it like the Scots. Not sure the two are connected. But surely if there were such a groundswell of public opinion in England, that would have manifested itself in the policies advocated by the mainstream political parties. That’s because they’re not a unionist party and the rest are. I think many want it but as an issue way down the list. But surely if there were such a groundswell of public opinion in England, that would have manifested itself in the policies advocated by the mainstream political parties.
Both countries profited enormously from
the Union, but the world is a different place in the 21st Century. Not entirely convinced that independence for either would immeasurably improve the lot of those in Barrow or Barra, but the respective peoples should be allowed to decide for themselves.
If the Union does dissolve, then there would be a de facto English parliament, but that would ignite debate over whether it should remain at a refurbished Westminster or be relocated elsewhere.I think many want it but as an issue way down the list.
Yes we would be down £11b. We give £79b in and we get £30b back. We will be fine and ee can grow our economy. How much will we be down yrar on year out of europe. Make that up in no time.Haha you think Scotland who have a net take, rather than give, from the UK’s coffers, leaving England will make England worse off?
Give us the vote, we’ll get rid of you in no time. Save us a headache from you moaning fuckers

It’s really not worth going down the economics of it all, if you gained true independence then any current figures are not that relevant. Your GDP and tax take will be dependent on how successful Scotland as a nation becomes which is how it should be.Yes we would be down £11b. We give £79b in and we get £30b back. I agree that it will take time. But we are in a dosnward spural being run by useless cunts. We can and will do better and the main thing is, we are in control. Not utter cunts who we never voted for. I trust us more than any lying, selfish, greedy, dishonarable bastsrds. It’s really not worth going down the economics of it all, if you gained true independence then any current figures are not that relevant. The true potential will take years to be clear so the question will always be are you happy being governed in the main by Westminster Parliament. A Scottish Parliament was always a half way house that suited no one long term.
Hopefully next time your fellow countrymen and women will be able to be less risk averse and take the plunge.
I think the SNP should hold their own referendum next year, I don’t think it should be done any later than this you need the Tories to be in power and royally fucking things up to help the cause.
But we are in a dosnward spural being run by useless cunts.
Partially true mate for devolved matters so they are by no means perfect. They need to operate within the constraints of the U.K. though and significant elements are still run from Westminster. The Scottish government will always have ‘an excuse’ until independence. Scotland needs to take that step and then succeed or fail based on its own competences and decisions. We are run by the SNP up here.

we are run by a left wing socialist party. There. After independence we still might be but that will be entirely up to us.Agree but there has to be an acceptance that we are literally ran by a left wing, socialist SNP up here and when the Scottish NHS is failing miserably on waiting times or the Scottish Ambulance service is literally surviving by having the army drive them or our schools are shit and drug deaths are at a all time high and council tax is going up and we ever increasing levels of child poverty etc.
The SNP and their policies run all those services here.
Stop blaming England, accept some responsibility and tell us exactly how a fully independent Scotland will do better because no one is falling for the oil and Whisky argument anymore because its bullshit.

They spend the funds they are given based on their priorities.
Are the problems that face the NHS a purely Scottish problem. Shall we trade stats on which country has the worse? I accept that by certain standards Scottish schools are less good than they were but they used to be world beating.
we are doing much much more in Scotland to reduce child poverty than anywhere in the U.K. and I expect you know that.
Drug levels I will give you. That is a national disgrace and I’m not convinced they still have a handle on it.
I am not arguing that the SNP have got everything right. I would argue that they are far far more in tune with what the majority of Scottish people want from their government than the clowns in the Tory Government. You know those dudes that openly laugh at and mock the representatives that the Scottish populace send down to London to represent us.
Independence might be a disaster, but it will be our disaster, not a long lingering death by a 1,000 cuts that is inflicted by c*nts that weren’t voted for by us, don’t represent us and frankly could not give one flying fuck about us.
I hope you stay in an independent Scotland mate as you know we welcome one and all.
You’re going on like the SNP aren’t also “lying, selfish, greedy, dishonarable bastsrds.”I agree that it will take time. But we are in a dosnward spural being run by useless cunts. If we were such a burden, we would be let go. We aren't. And the reason is clear to those who are wiling to look. Show me one country who got independence from the UK who wants to return? And we are lightyears ahead of them all. We are in tje shit right now and have been for decades with no chance of a fairer country. O was never a supporter of Indy. Seeing our votes to help labour win as crucial to standing with working class brothers and sisters in the UK. But when they vote Tory the baw is burst. We have no choice. My hope is we succeed and they realise a better way can be found and demand the same. This isnt anti English, I love you twats, its anti Tory.
A simple point made about a complex subject: do politicians/ government make a difference to the public they serve. Your answer tends towards the negative. I think that they can and do, both negative and positive. My point mate is a very simple one.
Left, right, there is no magic wand. No simple answers to real world problems and there never will be.
Life is tough. It will always very sadly leave some behind but for the vast majority, it’s actually pretty good and it’s good regardless of the political parties running us because the reality is, nothing much will or ever changes.
My beef is this incessant insistence we live in some third world hell hole that is all the fault of the Tories and Westminster and that a vote for someone else will have us all living in some socialist nirvana.
Its bollox lol.
On independence mate I’m happy either way and relaxed as again, in or out, I don’t expect my life to drastically change and I will go to work, pay my bills, see my kids grow and enjoy my life like most of us do.
In the same breath, those demanding it as an answer to all their prayers will I have little doubt, sit there like those of us who voted for brexit and think what the fuck was that all about? Nowt much has changed, what has is not for the better and all we have is arguments and issues no one really faced up to or accepted.
Yes, that’s me thinking my brexit vote was a right old mistake!
This government maybe but not Tories. You will continue to vote them in for the next century. No one is as bad as the Tories granted but they’ll be gone soon enough.
