I didnt say now. I said if we go and show it can be done, they will get as fed up with you votong in the Tories as we are. They have a muchbharder, but nit umpissible route as they dont have our resources.

Economically, I feel you may be right but using your own logic regarding the Scots and how much you perceive them to hate you, I have to say I was amazed a good number of years back by a Welsh crowd in Dublin for a Rugby international.
Drinking with them, I was amazed by their venom towards you lot. Thry couldn’t get over how chilled we were about the English and how they couldn’t get us to say we hated you, which I guess is a perception they had of us.
They couldn’t understand why we didn’t hate you and we couldn’t understand why they thought in the modern age that we should.

Anyway my point is, I never heard that venom from a Scot. If that is anything to do with your reasoning for favouring Scotland’s exit from the Union, would you favour Wales leaving too.
And by extension, what is your view on Northern Ireland’s future.
 
I won’t say I’m quite gobsmacked but have to say I’m quite wide eyed at some of the opinions exposed in here.

Supposing you do go for independence, in the aftermath, what are your political options beyond the SNP. Is there a genuine opposition as an alternative.

England absolutely bosses the union in terms of economy. Everyone else is a hanger on.

If I was in Scotland or Wales and thought a significant proportion of the English population had views like yours I’d fucking vote to leave the union in a heartbeat.

As I’m in England I’m stuck with living in the same country as you and people like you. That’s depressing.

He probably votes Tory, rages about 'benefit scroungers' (while simultaneously idolising the monarchy because of their wonderful 'tradition', a tradition which includes enslaving half the planet, but aren't those costumes lovely?!) and has a double digit IQ and no GCSEs or A levels.

If none of these things are true then it's even more frightening because he doesn't have stupidity and ignorance to hide behind. Just sheer hatred.

It will be interesting to see. Once Independence is won, the SNP kind of lose the essence of why they existed. They simply become a left of centre political party (and I can’t claim to know that is what they have been for their entire history). What will be the difference between them and a Scottish Labour Party? Shades of pink? The Tories probably need to drop the Unionist and try and revert to their roots in Scotland which was working class (protestant at the time). LibDems have always had a fair foothold in Scotland so they may become resurgent. I actually think when things settle most Scottish governments will be coalition as our pr system will deliver that once the SNP lose the main reason some vote for them.

maybe we should reconstitute Scottish monarchy :-) I’m sure that there is a remaining line somewhere that the English haven’t beheaded ;-)

Such is the fate of all single issue/ campaign parties. You only have to look at how farage has bounced from one (slightly racist) cause to another since he got his brexit vote.
Maybe if you can't locate the Scottish royal bloodline we could interest you in some of our saxe-coburg stock to get you started? We've got a celtic-looking ginger one in America that you can have, or another that is very fond of a round at st Andrews, but probably best not left looking after the kids.
