Neil Young demands Spotify remove his music.

If no one listened to them then Spotify wouldn’t have lost $4bn in 48 hours in market capitalisation.
I’m 100% behind Neil Youbg’s position, but tbf Spotify is one of those “tech wreck” companies caught up in the interest rate market moves, don’t you think?

I’m not saying it’s 100% the reason for the loss in market cap, but I’d be surprised if it wasn’t 85-90% of the reason…at a minimum.

Neil Young is a principled man and while his music isn’t my cup of tea, his attitude towards life is.

bit immature if u ask me. ur given a platform to make doe. why would u wanna pull out? cos someone doesn't agree with your stance on vaccinations. grow the fuck up.
Thanks but I think I'll throw my weight behind someone with the maturity of Neil Young who clearly lives by his principles and can, at least, string a sentence together.

Yet remains on Apple? The most valuable company in the world? and morally bankrupt to boot. Such a principled man, i wish i could be as principled as him.

Seeing as his issue that has made him leave is the anti-vax message they are allowing and Apple are currently encouraging all employee to be trippled jabbed, the fact he is on apple music is irrelevent to the arguement about his stance on spotify.

If apple suddenly prompte anti-vaxxers and he stayed on then the hypocrisy arguement over the issue is there.

Mob mentality with you pro vaxers, all stumbling over each other to show who can shout the loudest and be the most outraged and be the most sweary and lairy. Everyone's a **** or a twat or fucking idiot.

You absolute loons. I bet your the people that hold me up walking into Morrisons when they stop to wash their hands, wipe down the handle bars of the trolley and put their face nappy on.

Weirdo's.

Can't you tap your carer on the shoulder to signal that you'd like them to ask "the absolute loons" to move to one side so you can get in the supermarket a few seconds earlier?

Good effort. You'll catch plenty with that, but you may need a bigger boat!

Strange assumption on the vaxinated being an angry mob, I don't see pro vaxxers marching through the streets having mass demonstrations or harassing peope outside the ground in groups.

I get where you coming from but i was responding to a specific statement. 'clearly lives by his principles' if this is how he reacts to one scenario over another i have to find his principles questionable.

Petty & childish. If people want to listen to Rogan then they will. Neil Young is no more a medical expert than Rogan is, so both are essentially expressing personal opinions. I've made the point many times that there is never just one way to look at things. Spotify isn't forcing anyone to listen to those podcasts or any other output (including Neil Young songs).

Van Morrison is another anti-vaxxer who has used his music to express his views. I've seen Van the Man a few times and I'll continue to listen to him, just not this recent output. But I'm not refusing to listen to any of his stuff, deleting any digital content or throwing away physical media of his.

Neil Young is also entitled to his views and if he doesn't want his music on streaming platforms then it's up to him. In fact even before this, there were times when you couldn't get some of his albums on Spotify or Tidal, then they'd appear, then they'd disappear again.

I've willingly had all my vaccine shots, plus flu and pneumonia jabs and there's certainly solid data to show that these are beneficial but that doesn't mean we shouldn't ask questions or ignore potential side-effects. Or even question the whole political handling of Covid over the last 2 years. If Young is so worked up then why not go on the podcast and debate it?

It's like Sally Rooney refusing to have her last book published in Hebrew because of her views on the Palestinian situation. Many who might have read those books would quite possibly agree with her.
