Neil Young demands Spotify remove his music.

Joni Mitchell ditched Spotify too

These are music legends but I’m not surprised you are too dim to realise that.

I don't think we've spoke before but I doubt not caring about a 75 year old irrevelevant musician qualifies anyone as dim, Tim.

But hey, at least he gets his name in the news for the first time in 40 years...

It’s not on the basis of one podcast, it’s the continued use of misinformation both by Rogan and his guests, that podcast was the final straw more than an isolated incident. That it’s been ongoing is referenced in the open letter you referred to earlier.

Basically Rogans view all along is that if you are young fit and healthy you have nothing to worry about with infection from Covid - 19 - something that has repeatedly proven to be wrong with reports of quite a few young fit and healthy people getting Covid-19 then dying. Then you have the vaccines - they came along and he kept the same narrative but then said that also meant if that was your condition there is no need to have a vaccination.

His position is to push forward untruths which ultimately are damaging to public health.

That’s an incredibly dishonest view of things isn’t it? Joe Rogan is expressing an uninformed, ignorant view on covid that he’s not qualified to give, and Neil Young is supporting a campaign stated by hundreds of qualified doctors who want Spotify to stop him spreading known and proven misinformation.
Also Spotify has made its bed by removing thousands of episodes of podcasts for spreading misinformation. So your argument that “no one is forcing them to listen” isn’t valid. Spotify have taken on editorial responsibility and are simply shirking it on Rogan because they pay him so much.
Saved me a job of posting it. Well said.

Yeah you are so right - the music press and radio in America completely ignored the dozen or so albums he has released in the last decade especially the two albums he released in 2020 and 2021.

He has been nominated for about 20 Grammy awards in that period and won two or three in the last decade. Irrelevant you say? I am with @Tim of the Oak in his summation of your knowledge

American radio? Yawn..

It makes me feel uncomfortable because Thursday was Holocaust Memorial Day and that didn't begin with people being shot and gassed. It started with books being burned and a platform being denied to those who were considered "wrong" by the Nazis.

Now Neil Young is far from being a Nazi, entirely the opposite I'd imagine, but the principle is the same. He absolutely has the right, that others have already exercised, to question Spotify's moderation policy. But he's going beyond that and I don't get how some can't see the difference.
You’ve got it the wrong way around, that’s why. You’re arguing in favour of allowing the nazis a voice in the 1920’s rather than shutting them up and banning them from printing their disinformation on Jews.

I've heard his age referenced before by non fans of his music, whats wrong with being 75, why do you have to mention his age ? Do you think he's irrelevant because he's 75 ?
I'm surprised you dont support a world famous artist who is speaking out in support of Nurses and Doctors and trying to save lives.
Even the WHO support him in this.

This has to go on the Hall of Shame Wall for ignorant posts. Excellent example of how a free, widespread, instantaneous, unedited media distribution platform allows clueless people to express their perspective when before the advent of technology not a human would pay them any attention.

I can't believe how Rogan has his content viewed with suspicion over views being counted again if someone returns to view content they may not have finished in one go, ergo driving his count up... And then cites how CNN's website has 717mil in hits without a so much as hint of irony that the same thing may be happening!

Even the fact that Pfizer, the company that makes one version of the vaccine... heavily sponsors CNN.

Any conflict of interest, anyone?

No?

Okay then...

All the people offended and annoyed by Joe Rogan are the people who don’t listen to Joe Rogan
