What is it with these footballers, young football players especially!

A bit of money on the hip, adulation everywhere and an ego the size of a country and this is the outcome.

Like mendy and any other player out there who have overstepped the mark, throw the book at them, sack them and leave them on the scrapheap.

Shocking.

Domestic abuse is a big problem in this country, not just amongst young footballers, unfortunatley it is a crime that is hidden most of the time.

She is a brave woman to stand up and call out this **** for what he has done

Not sure it’s football, domestic violence and rape are everywhere.
It’s just footballers/celebrity bring it into the public eye.

Spent the last half decade being told yes by everyone and how special they are so more than a handful of them start believing their own hype and care only about what they want.

What is the point of posting that?

Of course they used to fuck. That doesn’t mean he can beat her up or rape her when she doesn’t want to fuck “Daddy’s dick” (not saying you disagree, more asking of the relevance of the tweet now)

Very strange post that. Thankfully you edited it. Many cases of domestic abuse where the abuser makes the victim call them ‘daddy’. Often a control thing.

Appalling and inexcusable should be sacked with immediate effect no excuses, I guarantee the scum will Come out with him crying in a press conference IM sorry I need counciing etc etc then oh what a brave lad to admit his mistakes he was brought up on a rough estate and all the usual bollocks to the extent he'll receive a standing ovation makes me sick

Yeah when I read it back it looked like I was asking you rather than the tweeter. Cheers

But also many relationships where both parties enjoy it. We don't have any reason to think this isn't one of them.

Loads of damning evidence has come out against him today, I just don't think that particular video counts among it.

The only thing about that video that I think is unsettling is their decision to record and post it on social media...

We do now. It’s more about building a picture as you do in a case like this. Individually that video wouldn’t mean much but together with the items released to day is paints a picture of objectification.

From a HR point of view they can’t, suspending him whilst the legal process is happening till any type of outcome is reached.

They can. Potentially problematic but nothing stopping them doing it. I'd dismiss him summarily based on trust and confidence. It doesn't need a court to state he is guilty or not guilty.

Hope the Scrote **** gets what’s coming to him, if that audio is anything to go by (and if that is actually him).

On what basis is it inadmissible in court?

Its a common plot device in US film and TV that recordings need 2 party consent - ie both people on a recording are aware and agree to being recorded - in order to be admissible evidence in some states.

That seems to have filtered into the general public understanding. The UK has no such requirements, nor do most countries.
