I was referring to the length of ‘test’ - ie before the next PL/CL :-)

Does anyone remember when they pulled under 20,000 in the very early years of Taggert for a league game? Was it Everton or Wimbledon they were playing?

Their history chums down the road all fucked off when Hodgson was in charge and they’ve managed to pull a gate below 15,000 for a European cup tie, fair weather supporters the lot of them.

Yep just tell these fans that say they are biggest bestest club in the world to look at there 26 years before they won the league under fergie!

It shows me they were an average mid table team and there whole history shows that.

They wouldn't be able to stand it, any of the fair-weather fuckers. They'd be suicidal if they went through half of what we suffered (the fabled 'York, away', a hairsbreadth from losing the play-offs to Gillingham). Those polystyrene fuckers haven't got the fight or the stamina to go the distance with their clubs, to stand shoulder to shoulder as you plummet through the league and suffer the humiliation of opposing fans and their piss-taking songs.

Nah, they only want the glory. They want to pick up a tabloid and see their plastic heroes on the back pages, they want to see the likes of Lineker and Co waxing lyrical about 'their team,' they want the kudos of marching into the playground or workplace the next morning secure in the knowledge that no one will give them stick about how crap their club is.

Opposition match-going fans I have no issue with, people who pay their money and genuinely support their club through thick and thin, fair play to them. No problems. But those plastic bandwagon-jumpers who like to give it the big 'I am,' I would like to have them do a human centipede with James Corden.

It's antidiluvian thinking from the days of retain and transfer. Master and Servant way of looking at it.
Contrasts sharply with City policy: if a player is unhappy it's best to let him go.

Went to Dubai a few years back and had to get a connecting flight in Frankfurt.
Rags were playing someone in the CL at the swamp that night.
Me and my lad boarded the flight at last call and every single person bar me and my lad were wearing rag shirts.
They would be half empty every game without the tourists.
1-6 at the swamp......my mate sat in scoreboard end at the game.
Said he was surrounded by hundreds of French school kids.
Told me there were easily 4-5 coach loads of them.....how they get tickets for a game like that?

I got totally confused as to who had been detained by the police.
In more than one paper it said “Man Utd Ace released on bail “
I could not think who that would be and it turned out to be same incident ffs

Were the papers a bit more sympathic towards him in the article itself? After being reported a lot now its more "it's all gone quiet over there'.
All very mysterious after that long questioning him. He's still told though.
