My one gripe is at 60 & 70 minutes I wanted more substitutions to rest players, protect them from injuries & suspensions, & to give some of the youngsters a run out & a night to remember.

All in all a brilliant night. Let's put it to bed in 2 weeks, & hopefully roll on to the last 8.

Yep - why bring on Fdinho when you have 6 kids on the bench. I get the others - those players need game time but Fern is not going to be any better for playing 20mins tonight.

Good to see Delap get on but I didnt see him touch the ball, i was watching a dodgy stream though.

We were outstanding tonight, and anyone of them could have been MotM, though I voted for Bernardo.

I’d like to say that the tie has been put to bed, but this is Manchester City, and we all know better than to count our chickens.

Love games like that. A wonderful team performance by everyone for whom pretty much everything came off.
Won’t always be like this. Have to enjoy it while it lasts.
With a bit of luck old big ears is on its way.

They are quite mediocre

I thought Bernardo summed it up quite well, in that we weren't great in the first half but we were clinical
Second half, we controlled the game much better
And when we have four or five players right on their game, we look superb. Fortunately in the first half three of the four defenders were right on it as Rodri and Cancelo were well below par
I thought throughout the entire game Ruben was outstanding
What a goal that was from Bernardo. If I'd attempted that my leg would have dislocated as I swung and missed

It's when you start believing how good you are that a fuck up usually arrives. It's understandable when winning a game easily that errors occur. There were plenty of passes going astray and players trying to run past players.

He is right to keep their feet on the ground we don't need any Billy big bollocks with some big games coming up.

Correct mate, I didn't see Delap touch the ball either. I spent the last 20 minutes shitting it that someone was gonna do a Walker & get sent off, or get injured. I get Fern for Rodders & Zin getting a run out, but I'd have taken Cancelo off & left Stones on.

However, the kids should have been given the chance to experience a CL away game. There was few reasons not to, & just imagine what it would have meant to them...

I agree that it would have been nice to see some of the younger lads get some game time but even with 20-30 mins to go, conceding two goals would’ve given Sporting something to play for in the reverse fixture. I’m hoping the youngsters (Delap, Kayky and McAtee) get some minutes in the second half of the home leg though!

It means a lot to all of them, but the older players Fern especially wont be arsed by 20mins especially if it means a kid getting on. Gundo as well. We had a range of kids on the bench so its not like they were not the right choice tactically. Would have loved to see Delap for Foden and then McAtee for Bernado.
