No club is going to successfully compete for trophies on a regular basis without plenty of investment. That is the bottom line and aside from a very rare occasion it has always been that way. After thirty five years of no success until our takeover I know which I prefer. Conn and his like can take some form of moral high ground and that's their choice. I just wish they'd fuck off, shut up and let the rest of us enjoy this magical time.
.....and so say all of us, and so say all of us ..

I think the vast majority of City fans are well aware that there are certain journalists (the likes of Nick Harris, Miguel Delaney, Rob Harris, Tariq Panja etc) who are clearly not reporting on City in good faith. It’s patently obvious. The club know it, we know it, they know it.

I think some though baulk at the notion that the entire media (whatever that may be) have an orchestrated campaign against the club. There are some decent articles written about City, and a lot of absolute shite. United and Liverpool get more coverage because that’s what generates revenue in a click-bait world, and publications pander to their audiences. Fuck them though. I’d rather be winning trophies than featuring at the top of The Mail or The Express’ news headlines.

It is so funny that people just ignore this point, even fans of the teams that have 'traditionally' spent the most and been owned by rich people, even if you said their investment was rich for the time and pales somewhat at the cost of modern football but at the time when 1m signings were not a thing they were spending big money on players.

None so blind as those that do not open their eyes to see the truth.

Fuck them, wankers all.

Bbc breakfast watch update. Lengthy sports update with dopey Mike this morning, plenty of winter Olympics, boxing and 5 minutes on a kid driving a car in Rugby league.Only football mention was the ongoing Zouma situation. No diotmention of the big game of the day !
I thought l must have missed it as the clock passed 0829 when the local news comes on.
Just before 8 that viewers' complaints slot came on with the totally expected complaints about the ridiculous time and prominence given to that Balkan Egotist. As usual they had a bloke come on to justify it but not in my opinion.
But what l did learn was that on the Tuesday evening BBC1 cleared off another programme to give Jovetic another half hour's publicity.
FFS.

These teams developed a worldwide fan base as a result. They get decisions to this day based on that popularity. The trophies they unfairly earn as a result of those decisions all go towards helping with FFP and help to maintain the status quo because it's "good for the brand".

Hello lads,
A friend from Finland chiming in here.
My first time posting here.
Anyways I thought that the way that our 'pundits' over here in Finland talked about City was always biased and unfair. Money this and money that. Never talking about the domestic quadruple. Never discussing about the possibility of the hard work and determination that our guys have been working on years and years.
It's always Hyypiä and Litmanen saying nonsense but always referring to Liverpool (who knows why?)
So dumb and boring.
Anyways my point is that I guess it is a global media thing to say those things without looking at the facts. They don't care about it. They care about their red teams looking all nice.
I don't know. Covid restrictions are out over here and I am pissed.
I am
Is nowhere safe from the horrors of ex Liverpool players employed as pundits ?

I've managed to find a picture of the WhatsApp group they belong to.

Journalists enjoy little public respect. An Ipsos Mori poll in 2020 put the percentage of people who trust journalists to tell the truth at 23%

I know we say it a lot in gest about people being obsessed with us but I genuinely believe that Nick Harris has a pathological hatred of City, our fans and a very unhealthy obsession about the Club, his behaviour is outright weird. He's delved into open football tribalism now: City fans being weaponised bots, any achievement from the club under Mansour is artificial, dull & requires an asterisk etc etc. He's literally a bot who gains his sense of journalistic worth from Liverpool & United fans lapping him up on Twitter, it's all quite sad really.

His essential MO is that any sponsorship we have from Abu Dhabi must be a front for disguised owner investment & therefore we would be a massive loss making organisation without them, essentially any UAE sponsor = not legitimate. Mental. Here's an articulate breakdown of anyone who buys this nonsense:

Fucking A.

How many trophies have been won by teams wearing blue as compared to red over the last 10 years?

I think us and Chavs combined (honourary mention to Leicester) dwarf the Redshirts tally. So why are the sports media insistent on promoting the red bastards as the best teams in the country when recent honours wise they aren't.

And they never seem to understand that if in their eyes it’s unfair that City spend more than the dippers and win many many many more trophies then it should also be unfair that the dippers spend much more than most of the rest of the PL to win their occasional trophy

Stu Brennan is a great journalist. And all the more impressive in his writing on City as he is a self confessed United fan.
He’s not a happy clapper but he’s fair and that’s good enough for me.
I actually believe being around the club so much these days has turned him into a closet blue

His writing is admirable because he is certainly swimming against the tide. Good for him.

Hilarious that Nick Harris thinks he's someone of any importance to the point Manchester City would give him access to their accounts. Accounts that have been scrutinised by recognised firms. From his smoking gun bollocks to his wanting of asterisks attached to City's trophies, he's proven himself a moron with little to no understanding - which is ironic when you consider his Twitter handle is sportingintelligence.

Ultimately the club will now feel that they're well within their rights for these kind of articles and inferences to be consigned to history. They've been to CAS who found zero proven allegations from Uefa, and they have accounts that have been scrutinised by some of the best firms in the world.

It's such wasted energy from the media when there's serious issues in football. But that what's drives clicks. Journalism is on its knees and generalising an entire fanbase is another comment from Harris that lacks intelligence.

I know very little about this whopper but it is clear from his 'weaponized fanbase' comment he is either a WUM or cognitively impaired...

I have must have missed the various emails and comms from the club exhorting me to go to war with media nomarks, if anything many City fans get frustrated that the club doesn't defend itself more robustly in the media.

More ironically, if the disingenuous twat chose to open his eyes he wouldn't have to look too far to find a literally weaponized fanbase where their cultish behaviour is encouraged by their club with it's "this means more" shit and complicity in their 'greeting' of opposition team buses.

Definitely mate, he's a professional journalist... In that he conducts himself professionally and without bias. There shouldn't be anything exceptional about that, but in this click bait era he's a rare breed. That's not to say he isn't critical of City, but when he is he provides balance. We're not asking for cheer leading in our coverage, just fairness.

Brennan stands out in comparison to the tabloid, click bait, whatsappers who don't conduct themselves professionally, in terms of what they print or how they engage with the City fans that challenge them on twitter. Personally, I try to ignore the majority of it, but seeing what gets shared either on here or social media it's staggering how most of them are making a living from it. Then again, their constant anti City drivel is lapped up by the red shirt fans so I don't expect it to change anytime soon.
