Russian invasion of Ukraine

You do know it harms Russia too if they don't get to sell their gas, it isn't a one way street and they don't have us by the bollocks.
I get this comment, but, like the US indirectly selling weapons, I’m sure Russia are capable of indirectly selling oil and gas.

When prices hit silly levels, through traders on the NYMEX, I’m not too sure they’ll be worse off.

Despite the sabre rattling on both sides I doubt anything too serious will happen.
The US might impose sanctions but Europe in the midst of escalating energy costs will not want to stop Russian gas supplies.
Hopefully you are correct

Evidence suggests Russia is planning "the biggest war in Europe since 1945", Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said.
He told the BBC's Sophie Raworth in an interview: "All the signs are that the plan has already in some senses begun."
Intelligence suggests Russia intends to launch an invasion that will encircle Ukrainian capital Kyiv, Mr Johnson said.
"People need to understand the sheer cost in human life that could entail," he said.
The prime minister was speaking from Munich, where world leaders are meeting for an annual security conference.
The latest estimates by the US government suggests the number of Russian troops now stationed along Ukraine's border, both in Russia and neighbouring Belarus, is between 169,000 and 190,000.

Boris saying that reminds me of the late Colin Powell waving his drawing of WMDs around.

What sabres are Ukraine rattling?

On the other hand building up 190,000 troops on the border of an another country, accusing that country of genocide, evacuating citizens of occupied areas on the pretext that they are under threat, carrying out a nuclear launch exercise, making demands that are impossible to be met and trying to provoke a response from Ukraine by getting their proxies to fire at them their self proclaimed states seems to me to be more than a bit of sabre rattling from the Russians.

Johnson has absolutely no credibility. It’s the classic boy who cried wolf situation. No one will ever take him seriously because of his track record. It’s the last thing we need in this situation.

Wasn't talking about Ukraine whose president seems reasonably sensible when compared with Putin, Biden and our very own Boris who is a beacon of truth as we all know.

Whatever Biden, Johnson or anyone else in the west say it’s Ukraine that’s under threat. NATO have made it very clear they will not directly engage Russia unless a NATO country is attacked so there’s no military threat that Russia needs to counter.
