We've allowed this cancer to grow and spread for 20+ years and now we are surprised! We advised Ukraine in 1994 to relinquish all of their nuclear weapons in exchange for guarantees for their independence and territorial integrity. All because we wanted Russian money safely invested in City of London and having access to the Moscow stock exchange. But I am sure we'll be very effective in rescuing a planeload or two of Ukrainian mutts.

Is anyone else getting weird feeling flashbacks to March 2020 when Covid was first hitting us? I mean in terms of constantly being drawn to the TV news channels and social media and watching with a strange constant knot in your stomach. That kind of helpless upsetting feeling. Probably doesn't help that my school is on half-term this week so I'm at home with nothing to distract me but it just has all the same hallmarks of how I felt back then

They are more likely to use tactical nukes than NATO whose doctrine is to not say when they will be used. Though it was generally understood during the cold war that use of one by Russia would be responded to with the use of many and it would quickly escalate if Russia responded.

I just don't see it mate, this power play from Putin will be from a position of absolute strength.

He's betting it all on red and that makes it a scary prospect.

When I listen to that Putin interview, I get nothing back apart from someone who is willing to take everyone down with him.

Oh I don't see it as at all likely at this point but another Russian revolution, this time for true democracy, is something that the world needs. Just as we could do with one in China. I don't expect we will see them.

When the Iraq war started my primary school had a candle in the reception area and a notebook for messages.

Might relieve some worrying.

I will never forget the anxiety I felt when Covid was hitting the news channels in the UK, and I really was pretty nervous where we were heading - weirdly, nearly 3 years ago my brother said ''no point worrying, there will always be something hitting the headlines, after this it will be Russia starting WW3 or something'' seems he was correct.

Don't worry with something that's out of your control, focus on your own circle and try and avoid the constant news.
