I know i'm being a bit presumptuous, but surely there's enough smart people in the governments opposing this who could and should be implementing these type of actions.

Sanctions are a two way street. There are plenty of people who could suggest all the ways to bring Russia to its knees with sanctions, but there's an economic cost for that that unfortunately governments will try to avoid.

That's why they always talk about ratcheting them up and never delivering crippling sanctions all in one wave.

BBC Radio had someone on today that said that in Italy the government thinks the economic hit from heavy sanctions will bring about an early election and they'll lose - so obviously they're going to be trying to get away with as little as possible.

Yeah i know, just pissed off how this has been allowed to happen.

I really hope it ends quickly and that horrible fucker is removed from the planet.
 
The UN is an utter waste of money. Like the League of Nations before ,as soon as one or more strong members start throwing their weight around its exposed as a useless talking shop.
Putin should have been branded a war criminal . Western countries self flagellating with race, gender and climate issues have shown themselves impotent when a bully shows what real world problems look like.

Carlson is as close to a white supremiscist as you can get away with on tv. Russians have been bank rolling various far-right groups, it's no wonder they take this approach.

Even had Steve Bannon praising him and over here we have Nigel Farage blaming the west.

The thing is though that the far-left are also refusing to blame Putin. Are they directly/indirectly taking money from Russian sources?

Two sides of the same coin who unfortunately dominate the space on social media.
