Russian invasion of Ukraine

Thanks. Although, other than an air strike on one earlier, it's the first I've heard mentioned. I guess it'll become clearer in the next few days.

there’s loads of footage and reports around. Mass helicopter attack early afternoon. Airport name is Antanov airport if they helps.

doesn’t seem to have been covered much by UK press.

edit. Times of Israel did a bigish piece on it.

Ukraine has 40 million people, and a limitless supply of weapons and money from NATO flooding in across 2,000km of border with Poland, Slovakia, Romania and Hungary that he can't stop because they're in NATO and untouchable.
I don’t think Amazon are delivering there. How do you think all these weapons are getting delivered? I think the main reason this full invasion came out of the blue was to prevent exactly that, the Russians knew weapons were coming to Ukraine.

Remember to wear your mask if we get nuked.
When I was a lot younger, and there was a serious threat of Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) from a nuclear war, we were given brief instructions on what to do if it ever happened. These were:
a) Bend down
b) Put your head between your knees
c) Kiss your arse goodbye

Unfortunately, at 71, I am not as supple as I used to be, and b) is now a non-starter.

I'm getting worried.

Napoleon was 5 ft 7 and that was the average height of an adult man at the time.
Eric Garcia is billed as 6' despite being around 5'9", I'm sure Boneparte if self conscious about his height would have added half a cubit and no one would argue. Despite never being measured people now know his height exactly which is likely to be complete bollocks.

But he says there was no Russian aggression until after the fact. I take it you didn’t watch that or you’re talking about some other material?

The article he wrote which this talk is based on. I've watched bits (I don't currently have the hour free).

I disagree with him on the point of Russian aggression, it's always been there. It might not have looked liked it did in the 19th century but they've been aggressive in supporting puppet regimes in the Eastern bloc, that included the Ukraine, and interfering in US and UK elections. It is why Eastern European countries want to join NATO, they remember what is what like living under Russian rule and don't want to become another Belarus.

Firstly, the west has been sending as many weapons as they can over there for 4 or 5 months now, so they're already there.

Secondly, how do you think any insurrection is supplied by allies? I didn't mention 2,000km of borders with friendly countries as a non sequitur.

Often buried at death when fitted for a coffin?

When did I say they didn’t happen exactly?

Edit- the president fled to Russia in February 2014, the elections you’re talking about were in May 2014.

What I said was he didn’t lose an election, protestors took the government buildings and he fled.

3 months later they had an election, which was after Crimea was annexed.

For anyone wanting a history refresh, this 3 min video is very good.

I served in the military for 25 years and never met anyone like that.

You were lucky. For reference, two of them had a row with a bloke in a pub, minding his own business, over the clothes he was wearing. Few insults traded. He left the pub. They went after him, they were pissed at the time, got in car. Mounted the pavement to try to run over the bloke and his missus. Another one ended up inside for attempted murder of a stranger. Then there were the brothers of my step mother. Massive arseholes. One of them was in a senior position at Sandhurst in his last few years of service.

Was going to go chapter and verse on you but I'll just say this

"You absolute fucking prick"

What's that phrase that's not conscientious objector, oh yes fucking coward, don't bother responding can't be arsed with dick heads.

Haha. So everyone in the army is perfect. All nurses are Florence Nightingale's etc..

You need to chill out. Don't go chapter and verse because even when you write short posts they are barely readable.

Zelensky said Russian sabotage forces are now in Kyiv he’s staying there with his family. Apparently only 25% of the 190,000 Russian troops have entered Ukraine. I expect Ukraine with get a blasting early hours and inflict some serious casualties god bless Ukraine

The UK sent 100 anti tank weapons a month ago, that’s it as far as I’ve read. The US sent some too not sure what, both said they were sending more on the 22nd, I think that’s why the sudden invasion happened.

I’m pretty sure Kiev will be surrounded in a few days, the Russian army is about ten times the size in raw numbers.
