I’ve never met an intelligent person that didn’t think Brand was a twat. It’s always the crayon eaters that listen to him and think he must be wise as he uses big words. I wouldn’t piss on Brand to put him out.

You’re spot on that we do take exactly the same stance as India/UAE are here on various conflicts and atrocities around the world every day.

But we shook our heads and shrugged our shoulders but got on with our lives the numerous other times Russia has invaded Ukraine since 2014. But this time they’re invading to take the entire country, with the threat of further invasion into other countries even closer to us, with the threat of invasion into NATO countries, with Putin’s threatening words in the last week, with the threat of full scale European war or even a world war.

This isn’t a case of them being white so we care more than we do about the war in Yemen or Myanmar where brown and “yellow” (isn’t “yellow” a racial slur? or do you mean Homer, Mo and Barney?) people are at war; this is edging closer to being a direct threat to us and something we may we’ll be fighting in soon.

That’s why we’ve sent our military to the borders in Poland Romania and Lithuania. Our lads are out there ready for anything if it comes to it.

I'm not suggesting we should turn away from the Ukraine, just trying to make the point that for other countries it makes more sense to be ambivalent due to their own interests, but that doesn't mean they support Russia.

Feel genuinely sorry for the people of Ukraine. But as outsiders, the way I see it it’s literally NATO and the West causing trouble on one side vs an egotistical and expansionist Russia on the other side.
