Russian invasion of Ukraine

Now our own Clive Myrie, I’ve just watched Mastermind which I recorded earlier and then there he is in Kyiv taking shelter underground with Lyse Doucet. Stay safe both of you and all reporters and everyone over there.

Sorry, sorry I’ll stop now but I probably won’t stop crying!
I was born in 1941 so have empathy with those poor children.
 
Sounds like Russia are gonna bombard them with missiles tonight. Hope everyone managed to get to a shelter.

What's happening in Ukraine is awful. A war between NATO and Russia would be immediately worse. A conventional war would have only one outcome... a crushing defeat for Russia. Then, when all is lost for them there is only one military option left for Russia and that leads effectively to the end of civilisation as we know it.

This is going nuclear, Russia won’t attack a NATO country conventionally, the first missiles they fire will be hypersonic.
 
Ukrainian resolve and resistance is making it difficult for the Russians, their people are far more willing to fight than many of the Russian soldiers seem to be. The more they slow down Putin's invasion plans the crazier he will get; he's increasingly megalomaniac with only yes men around him so he could go fully ape and order the mass bombardment of Kiev until it's rubble. It needs a coup by Russian generals to put a bullet in his head, or turn him over to the people to do to him what Italians did to Mussolini in 1945.
 
Why are “some Russian banks” being taken out of Swift, why not ALL Russian banks? My guess is that the ones that the Germans use for trading with Russia for gas supplies are the ones being left in. The Ukrainians lose their lives, whilst the eu and particularly it’s richest country is more bothered about paying more for its gas bills, disgusting

There's plenty of rich Russians that have been enjoying the fruits of capitalism that will be very pissed off at the mo.

Yeah, Gazprom Exports bank most likely. You know the Gazprom that’s a majority state owned…
