The fact they're so boldly rolling down the street like that and not being bombed is probably a bad sign for the state of the UAF and those planes the EU sent.

TB2 drones are probably more useful than Jets.

I don't think that scenario would lead to nukes.

We just send the message that we will not enter Russia but we will defend Ukraine.

Lines will be drawn at some point, western leaders will have a line where they probably can't let it go any further.

Who knows mate. My post was specifically in reply to a suggestion that were Russia to use a tactical nuclear weapon, we could use one back on a tit for tat basis.

But assuming no nukes used, could we put troops on the ground in Ukraine? I think it would be too risky. The former head of UK armed forces said it's unthinkable and would lead to WW3. He may be wrong, but what a risk to take.

Maybe I was being pedantic, but the UAE was never going to meet with the Russians, a phone call is just that.

The UAE has its own regional concerns, primarily Iran. it keeps ties with Russia open because otherwise it becomes an American fiefdom. We might not like it but as far as the UAE is concerned what's happening in Ukraine is to quote Chamberlain...

"a quarrel in a far-away country between people of whom we know nothing."

Far too risky. One incursion on Russian soil or over Russian airspace and it escalates.

having seen the moves in sport today I suspect that teams/players will refuse to play against them leading to a ban - I mean we have seen what an arse Djokovic can be so why not refuse to play Medvedev get him banned and get your number one crown back by default?

Chamberlain is much maligned, his reputation trashed, primarily by Churchill. But we were in no position to help Czechoslovakia in September 1938. Shit! We were in no position to help Poland in Sept 1939, but we bought a year of preparation.
