Someone needs to put their arm around the Putin lad, take him to one side and ask him 'what are you playing at? '

They need to put an arm around him,lead him to a dark room and lock him in. Then call off the war and get back to normal.

You have to admit, out of pure morbid curiosity if nothing else, if this was a game and you could pause/reload/save game etc, I’d be interested to see how it played out. I do love a good end of word novel.

But like I said, unless he is cheeky enough to invade a NATO country nothing will be done. Even then I think we'd ride the diplomacy card as long as possible.

Interesting that the russian rhetoric on Zelensky has changed in the last day or so.

Early days he was depicted as a drug addled neo-nazi.

Now the emphasis has switched away from him and towards his government (and how they're the bad people and controlling Zelensky).

Seems possible the russians plan to switch in a pro-russian government and maybe try leave him as a figurehead.
Then when he quits, they can say its nothing to do with them.

It puts them in a tricky spot indeed. Let's say they aren't finished with just Ukraine. I mean they did think taking Ukraine would be easy but they really underestimated it. That's not good as it means more death and civilian casualties. Putin won't back down so if he has to he will fucking flatten it.

Then where next ? Georgia ? I mean looking at it many regions have quite a high % of ethnically russian people so he may be thinking that will also be easy. As long as he keeps NATO from expanding in that region he's as safe as houses (houses not in Ukraine that is).
