Not sure I agree with these sanctions, I think we are getting to the point and then some that they are hurting the citizens who have nothing to do with this.

If we go to far this can easily be weaponised against the west.

Sanctions are suppose to hurt the citizens, that’s kind of the point of them. If 100m Russians suddenly lose 10-30% of their quality of life to massage Putin’s ego thens there’s more likely to be dissent from within.

I understand the point of the sanctions, but your also dealing with a government who can flip it and day "listen this is the west doing this to us, not me".

That element is irrelevant though as he’s done that for the last 22 years, the Russian focs will swallow it regardless, the only way information changes in their eyes is manually opening them from grandkids sons daughters friends & family that have the trust to swim against the state media bullshit. I think that's the most likely end to this too. I suspect he'll initially over run the whole thing then withdraw to what he thinks is a governable and more pro-russian space spinning that publicly as a reasonable compromise.
