Americans believe they have a right to low 'gas' prices and seemingly think paying an extra ten cents on the gallon is sacrilege, even if it means fucking Alaska and the planet in the process.

The problem remains that people will still need/use oil at whatever price and reducing the cost to the planet is more important than cost to consumers. I remember seeing something that said the 15 largest ships in the world create more pollution than ALL the cars in the world. So having loads of tankers which are pretty big ships themselves emitting pollution on journeys half way round the world, making the equivalent of taking coals to.Newcastle seems pretty daft in my simplistic view.

Lots of people understandably wanting a quick and simple solution to this.

We cannot solve this. Every credible outcome is bad - even if Putin falls does anyone think an instant peaceful democracy in Russia which totally withdraws from Ukraine is likely?

All we can do is choose how to react, and no-one being honest has any certainty as to what the best thing to do is. I definitely don't.

See my post above. There is a huge difference between seeking to understand and seeking to justify. I am sure there is complete alignment on here amongst every single one of us that NOTHING justifies what Putin is doing.

But it's really important IMO to try to understand what's driven hum to do it. Without considering that, we are completely blind to what any possible resolution to the conflict may be.

It's a football forum.
Calling the Russians cunts and comparing Putin to Hitler is as good as you're going to get.
I wouldn’t expect too much rational analysis and reasoned debate.

I felt a right idiot the other week, used Chicken Kievs for me and the kids, instead of regular chicken burgers.

I chomped down on my Kiev burger and it exploded and the garlic butter burnt the side of my fucking face.

No sympathy from my two!

Normally, when I have cooked (warmed up) a chicken Kiev, I return to the oven only to discover that it's burst and all of the garlic butter has nestled underneath the chicken and gained an adhesive power far greater than industrial strength Araldite leaving half of it pretty much a permanent feature of another baking tray destined for the bin.

Tip for you:

Place a piece of bread under your Chicken Kiev before you cook it.

When you take it out of the oven you've got a bonus piece of garlic bread and haven't wasted your nice juices.
