It's easy for tribalism to come into this but this is quite bad and I hate to see politics come into football.

Not a good day.

Politics hasn't come into football.

A private citizen has had his business assets frozen, one of them assets is Chelsea, it hasn't been specially selected for punishment, it has suffered from an unfortunate coincidence.

Abramovich paid around £140 million for the club and was owed about a billion in investmenst (which he claimed to write off only weeks ago). He has been asking for nearly 3.5 billion to buy the club knowing ithis was likely to happen while potential investors were valuing it at about 1.5 billion.

He has sold the club, staff and fans out by not selling imediately and cutting his loses.

Politics isn't to blame for this, a greedy rich man seeing their money dissapear has.

This sets no presidence, if an owner is found to be in a sanctional position then picking and choosing which of their businesses get sanctioned because they are a sporting club not say a factory would be wrong and unjust

No, but our owners could be providing resources to another country hostile to the West in another conflict down the road.

Also Chelsea are barred from making new signings regardless of where the money is coming from, so I don't think self-sufficiency entirely eliminates this risk.

That being said, the UAE is trying to play nice with everyone internationally, so I sincerely doubt we'd wind up like Chelsea/RA.

Our owners are not the UAE

Can I just ask, why is anyone anywhere relating City to this? It’s just a bit weird if you ask me.
Not all foreigners are the same….
Not everyone thinks that a person or a club should be considered as a unique entity, for all good or bad. If things can be done against Chelsea, arbitrary, sudden, and justified, things can also happen to City, sudden and unjustified.

If this was how it was structured, why can't Chelsea conduct normal operations, including signing players and selling merchandise?

Our owners ?

So if they reach the FA Cup semi etc then their end will be empty.

Absolute mess that the club finds itself in. Wonder how other PL clubs will react to this?

Surely the FA could sell the tickets to chelsea fans directly rather to the club who then sell them and the FA keep the profits.

All 3 out of contract players will be well sought after

Might be more than 3 by the end of the week.

Do you know what, I don’t even think United or Liverpool fans would do what she did and what the Chelsea fanbase as a whole did that day.

United and Liverpool never chant anything about the Champions League/European Cup at us, and they’re the two biggest sets of cunts in the country.
Dippers never chant about the EC, its all they go on about!
