I studied the Rothmans League Book as a kid as if it was my catechism. It's been so useful in life to know I could recognise a team by it's away socks, and recite 92 different nicknames for teams.
Happy days. Jumpers for goalposts.
Was the old Rothams League books that allowed me to find out about the leagues and teams of countries around the world. Gave me more knowledge of the world game than my peers at the time.

Is this a first for the word "catechism" on Bluemoon?

I’ve certainly never read it on here before. I had to look it up.

My hat is well and truly doffed.

I hope those ( dippers) don't fxxk up before we play them.
I don't want anyone to burst their dreams until we get them on the pitch.
Watched them against West Ham and Brighton yesterday and despite what the media roll out they are decent but not outstanding.
I so want city to do the damage in league and cups, only reason I don't want them in a final is the media will spin it to plucky losers.
You’ve got to be kidding Odd Socks. I’m sure people said the same against us when we beat Brentford and Everton - “don’t look anything special”. Truth is they are a fantastic team and the only one that scares me and are capable of beating us at the Etihad.
We need them to drop points wherever and whenever, not picking and choosing

Those of us of a certain age, and a certain religious bent, had to learn the catechism off by heart. But, some of us were far more interested in following football and our true religion - all we ever needed to know was that, on the eighth day, God created Manchester City. (Why he saw fit to torture us for the best part of 40 years, I'm not sure, but, as I mentioned 'our kid' earlier, I blame him!)

I grew up going to chapel every Sunday, until I was 11 or 12, and I was allowed to make my own choice, as to whether I went or not.

I chose not.

No chance the Dippers will offer Salad the £350k a week he wants and probably deserves , they bought Diaz to soften the blow when Salad signs for us , imagine the tsunami of boiling piss if he was wearing a blue shirt next season.
We dont sign players like him where money is the first and only goal. That's why Sanchez,Ronaldo, Messi and others went elsewhere and we are sitting pretty as Champions and favourites to repeat

I used to pretend going to church every Sunday morning - going to the swimming baths instead. Got found out though when I came home with wet hair one Sunday and it hadn't rained that day.

I had to go until I was about 14, my dad never went, but I was still forced to go.

Never been since about 16, unless for funerals, generally avoid weddings if I can, had to go to my own obviously.

My wife mentioned that her siblings and her were 'forced' to go to Sunday School every Sunday afternoon - she thinks that was for her parents to get them out of the way ------- wonders what for!
