It's a weird stance to take for a media that in its essence is to the right of the political spectrum in that it's mainly owned by those who stand to gain more from a society that is controlled by capitalism. A profit driven media who's very existence relies on propaganda to ensure subservience to its model. Away from football this media are against everything that a socialist frame of mind is for. To champion a Liverpool fan base that's apparently socialist goes against everything they stand for. Yet they do. Why is that?I really hate this idea that supporting Liverpool is somehow more ethical than supporting City. It isn't. As if Liverpool and the rags didn't buy their way to success, as if their overlords aren't corrupt.
I see Klopp is trying to irritate City fans again by going on about how Liverpool are going to annoy the hell out of City.
It's because Liverpool is a brand to them and they know their fan base is worldwide and as such aren't predominantly socialist. They can back this fantasy of an ethical team without ever actually having to concern themselves with the possibility of it ever venturing into reality. Liverpool, the ethical, socialist team exists only at a level that a few locals can proclaim to be a part of but beyond that it is nothing more than a global brand that the media whores out like a cheap stripper in its seedy nightclub. Beyond the realms of fantasy they are no more ethical than any other team in this, or any other, league. And that's the point. The media don't use reality to sell a product when the fantasy sells much better. And as such Liverpool are treated like the darlings of the media when in reality the very core of what they think makes them so special is what leaves them vulnerable to this act of prostitution.
