The Conservative Party

Not all this has nothing to do with Brexit, ultimate control is being able as a government to make the rules. The problem is we have this government, now I didn’t or won’t vote for the fuckers and I know you won’t. Unless you can tell me what employment laws this govt has been forced to make because we exited the Eu then you are just doing what you normally do. Blame Brexit for everything on every thread.

Not having a go but it’s not really helpful to anybody.

I wasn't blaming Brexit I was highlighting its absurdities - you think of all the slogans bandied about then this happens - this is a business with a massive black hole in its pension funds which it has refused to address but at the same time sponsored international golf tournaments an equal amount - it then held out the begging bowl through the pandemic and now does this.

That pantomime performance in the house just now is bollocks - if Johnson wasn't told anything whilst in Dubai yesterday its a massive personal snub for him. This Govt whipped its MP's to block a Labour motion to outlaw hire and fire - and they continue to to shovel money into DP World coffers - why? Because they are vital to the Freeports fantasy they promised that they claimed could only exist because we left the EU - an out and out lie. It is true this happens because we have a spineless stupid Govt but you cannot deny the reason as to why they are our Govt

I don’t particularly want to get into this, I believe you have a thread somewhere:-) The reason why we have this govt is because a large minority of the public voted for the fuckers in a system that the public don’t seem concerned about.

This is what control is and people love to pass the buck but at the end of the day it’s those who give the control that are the problem.

Hopefully after the shit show of pretty much everything they have touched enough people will finally wake up. And maybe another party will make it very hard for them to ever get total control again.

I wouldn’t hold my breath mind.

Just Tories being Tories .... started with British Gas employees a year ago .... coming to your job soon .

A large part of society nowadays, know the price of everything but the value of nothing.

An old quote, but it seems apt for these times.

The rot set in long before the latest chancers were voted into power.Albeit they seem to be accelerating the decline.
It's about time the electorate say enough is enough....,but that takes us back to the old quote.

This is how you buy a country - we are all affronted by the Tory MP's being bought by oligarch's and their party being hijacked by foreign money however even more sinister is how these countries via sovereign wealth schemes and private rich individuals who are oligarch's enablers and invest in everything from pet projects to election promises - yes there may be a financial return and yes launders dirty cash but it also buys influence.

Today - Minister calls up P&O Ferries CEO and says " look old boy what you are doing is not on "
CEO responds " Just off the phone with the Dubai owners we are looking at a way to support the business internally. One thing we are exploring is suspending investments in UK Freeports to provide the necessary cash "
Minister " errr... errr..hang on I will have to speak to the PM...."

Which ones the adopted ones that brought him up, or the feckless ones which gave him up for adoption ?
If that's true, I had no idea he was adopted.

It's a weird one now regarding tory politicians. My parents brought me up to be honest and responsible, traits sadly lacking in a Prime Minister that has earned a fortune writing lies for a living, can't stop himself from demonstrably lying as Prime Minister, fathered multiple children, left his wife when she was diagnosed with cancer, and surrounded himself with sycophants that also find it impossible to be honest.

They've spent years demonising the less fortunate in society, calling them scroungers, work shy layabouts, whatever, yet they can't recognise they have a moral compass that is worse than those they pillory.

I've said it before, but if I had raised children with their levels of dishonesty and lack of integrity, I'd be deeply disappointed. We deserve better than that, and fortunately most people are honest and decent. It's a shame those now running the country don't reflect that.

Suggest you see what Stanley Johnson has to say - or indeed any of his siblings - they have let so much pass they are beyond salvation now - they can't say " I don't approve of X" because they know a litany of stuff they ignored will be trotted out and their own judgement and integrity will be in tatters too - the entire Johnson family approach to doing wrong is lie and move on

Stanley Johnson thought it was a hoot to defy lockdown and fly by circuitous routes to his holiday home while we were all stuck at home with everything shut.

When you have a father like that, it's no surprise your offspring don't give a shit. Like father, like son, and fuck me, what a dreadful refelection on Eaton school, that supposed pinnacle of society that begat Boris Johnson, Jacob Rees-Mogg, and countless other lying toads that believe they are 'born to rule' yet spring out more liers than the state school system combined.

Boris Jonson couldn't be arsed taking our profit from the European Investment Bank, nearly £7 Billion, wasted millions on a bridge with a few trees on it in London, and was happy to set fire to £50 notes in front of a homeless man in London when he was in the the Bullingdon club. He also wanted a journalist killed.

What a guy, and he's so funny......

By funny you mean self serving cynical ****?

Born in Aberdeen, Gove was in care until being adopted aged four months old, after which he was raised in the Kittybrewster area of the city.

Wiki

Its part of the initiation test of being a tory if you are already a over privileged **** like Johnson and Reece-Mogg then its just be yourself. But for people like Gove, Patel and Odd Job you have to prove that you are prepared to turn your back on where you came from, kick that ladder of opportunity away anyone trying to get to where you did. If you a person like Patel then you have to be overtly racist and hostile to every immigrant in the vilest nastiest way possible, Gove's party piece was in education where his job was to reduce life opportunities for poor people. Education is not a good thing for a right wing populist governments.
Its all about creating a nation of flag waving simpletons who never criticise the government. Like when Rees Mogg said that permanent secretaries had a duty to remain 'completely apolitical' after several used social to support the anti-racism campaign in recent years.

Mr Rees-Mogg used his Moggcast podcast on the ConHome website to suggest that they should only tweet about state events like the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and Remembrance Sunday.

He was actually sending out a dog whistle to all saying this is how he wants the population to behave.

It will be about Brexit irrespective of whether it is down to Brexit or not. The Brexit message was about control and protecting British workers and British jobs from European laws and Europeans. Brexit was about protectionism and isolation and looking after your own. The news that British employees get fucked over and French workers don’t cuts across that message, a feeling that this was not meant to happen, that this is ‘not what we voted for’.

A policy driven by emotion but does not deliver, either in reality or emotionally, is always vulnerable.

It's about brexit because brexit is the reason we have the current of set of bastards in charge of this country.

Just listened to R4. It would appear that the government has to be told, by law, no less than 45 days before a firm has to make more than 100 employees redundant. If this is true, have the government been told and we don’t know about it? Wouldn’t put it past them.

Very true.
When we were told we were ‘taking back control’ what they omitted to say was that the control would be handed straight on to French companies who provide electricity, various European companies who run water and other utilities, Middle Eastern businesses who own ferry companies and who finance the farcical con-trick of Freeports, and of course, Russians who simply provide large sums of money to gain power and influence.
We can expect more ‘taking back control’ as the government’s much heralded ‘bonfire of regulations’ sees an end to the protection of EU employment legislation and more British jobs disappear in a puff of brexit smoke and mirrors.

Would be a tremendous own goal if they had, if anybody looks more deeply into it that is.
