In terms of projections, yes, but, for instance, did Ronaldo know he was going to United in March? Did Lukaku know he was going to Chelsea? I am pretty sure the answer was no to both

No player is going to change their mind because they woke up one day feeling a certain way, especially younger players who rely heavily on their agents

Most clubs accounts run July to July. We changed our a couple of years ago to that because we were out of kilter with most clubs.
Doubt his release kicks in before May. Otherwise they could lose him for the run in.

but players and managers do know what they want and will get it or not well before the summer holidays.
a deal can be stuck with haaland its in his clause and a fee was set ? so in the winter transfer market a pre contract could be agreed if somebody offered the fee within the clause set

i think the fee was around £67million and if man city offered that amount then haaland and his people could talk to man city within the next 6 months leading up to the summer 2022 ? like i said early march would be ideal for both parties to get clarification and sort it out and then both can work on other things
