If the flat rate on fuel was approx 60p and fuel was previously £1.30 with a tax rate of 20% above the flat rate, the tax man was claiming 14 per litre in tax. At £1.80 the tax man is now claiming 24p in tax making an extra 10p from the increase in prices, therefore giving us half of the extra profit back.

Does that seem like they’re helping the country or allowing the producers/retailers to make just as much profit with the Chancellor also profiting himself?

That whole piece of garnish has left the average Joe in serious shit that will last for years to come.

The government have had us all off again while ensuring the rich keep skimming off the top.
 
5p off a litre of fuel isn`t going to help those that can`t afford a car

So if you earn £12570 pa you will benefit from NI changes. That`s if you can afford to live on £12570 pa

Forget 1p off income tax, those that can afford to pay income tax need to take the burden off those on the breadline. Increase the higher income tax rate. The disparity in earnings especially the North/South divide is ruining this country.
 
well Brent crude up to $122 a barrel this afternoon and reports on 5LIve that some garages have put fuel up 5p a litre this afternoon just so's they can take it off and carry on charging like a wounded buffalo

I watched ITV where they had 4 women who were saying they are working and using food banks. All agreed that they are in shit state and with most agreeing that they will have to choose if they ‘eat’ or they ‘heat’. And they‘re the lucky ones that have a choice!
