The Conservative Party

You'd think so, but it appears that the rules of the HoC don't cover the accuracy of what is said.

The Ministerial Code should do it, but that requires a degree of honour and respect. Who enforces it? The Prime Minister.

There have been a number of moves in the last 1-2 years to make lying have more serious consequences, including the a 100k petition to make it a crime. You'll be shocked that the govt decided not to put it forward as a law.

The Erskine-May rulebook says: “The Speaker’s responsibility for questions is limited to their compliance with the rules of the House. Responsibility in other respects rests with the Member who proposes to ask the question, and responsibility for answers rests with Ministers.”

Correcting the record is voluntary too, and can't be forced.

I would suggest Lindsay Hoyle is maybe part of the problem… did a deal with 5he Tories to become the Speaker - and thus far he’s been fucking useless… let’s Boris get away with all manner of things.

Underfunded .... understaffed.... inadequate cover. A friend (who's a midwife) told me that over the weekend they could only give epidural injections to one (As she said .... the one who screamed the loudest) because once an injection is given a nurse / midwife has to stay with the recipient .... and after that they didn't have the staff to cope.
It won’t just be Shropshire they are the ones whose parents fought for justice, The NHS is underfunded not enough staff and in Maternity it’s back in the dark ages, they seem to have forgotten the risks for mother and baby deaths and brain damaged babies

Partners are encouraged to share in the birth purely as an assistant the staff only need to give minimal assistance.

All part of the plan. Reduce confidence in the NHS as part of the plan. They had an article in the Times (?) a couple of weeks ago saying that they wanted people to have a choice where they received treatment. You would be able to go on line and choose where you want to go and the money would follow you. The grand privatisation is coming.

It is already happening with cataracts, hip and knee replacement already going to private hospitals.

Bit of a distraction to blame the Speaker for Tory lies. He's let the SNP find a way round it anyway, but just let every opposition MP in turn call him a liar and get thrown out.

Tbf you have had the right to choose which hosps you can go to for lots of things for about fifteen years now . I think now patients are dissatified with the NHS because they have forgotten covid and why it is difficult to see their dr and being stupid as to why there is such a backlog

I thought we might come out of the last two years with more respect for the nhs

careful - Rishi will come over and slap your knees ( he can't reach any higher without a ladder )
It must be heartbreaking for him being asked questions about his multi-billionaire wife's Russian business interests. Exactly the same as Chris Rock taking the piss out of your weird wife having no hair.

Biden releasing a percentage of reserve oil to keep the cost down at the pumps untill production increase kicks in, as we have 4 years worth of reserve in the UK why are they not going down this route

they tell lies......who knew?

This is why they've done it.....

This is Nikki da Costa

UK government shelves conversion therapy bill

We are very pleased the government has announced that it is abandoning plans for a conversion therapy bill. We applaud the government for listening to and taking seriously the concerns of clinical professionals and parents, rather than being swayed by activists for the sake of scoring political points. This is a good decision for the protection of children and young people experiencing gender-related distress, and the government must be commended for putting children first.

The proposed conversion therapy bill was muddled and open to interpretation, exposing children and young people to further risk of an ideology-based approach which only confirms a transgender identity.

24 hours after one of their MP's outs himself as Trans they do this.

They are an embarrassment to all of us.

In this regard they're not.

This isn't about outlawing religious nutcases beating the gay devil out of kids, quite the opposite, it's about this....

From the tweets and in a nutshell....

The bill risks Govt participating in closing down of discussion of "how fixed or fluid gender incongruence is at different ages and stages of development", even though this is essential to reaching "shared understanding of how to provide appropriate assessment and treatment"....

And risks exacerbating an EXISTING chilling effect where clinicians do not feel able to raise concerns or suggest alternative pathways. Simply put, there are those that would weaponise the accusation that a clinician 'had intent to convert' and the threat of criminal sanction....

Finally, why does this matter? Because unlike with sexual orientation there is a medical pathway for gender identity - puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and post 18 surgery - so preserving space for legitimate exploration given a lot more could be going on is essential

That's why they used to joke at the Tavistock there'd be no gays kids left.

Thank you PF.

A new perspective for me to take on board.
