From my experience it seems to be people from the satellite towns rather than Manchester itself, doesn’t sit right with me, in fact if anyone says Manny to me I find them immediately irritating, which I know is irrational, but still, it’s fuckin Town !I've never heard anyone refer to Town as Manny. Ever!
Because we're all townies. Is there a reason we refer to it as town considering it’s a city ?
I agree but I cringe when I hear MancHeard the used just once or twice when a kid. Cringed at then, cringe at it now.
There's nowt to discuss, you nailed it (I hated typing that)Spoken by yonners

Manchester or simply town.
Anyone that says different us from Duckenfild
Once heard a pilot on the tannoy referring to it as “Manch” whilst flying to Ringway from Greece in the early 90’s.
I think that’s even worse.
I remember turning to my mate and saying “did that **** actually just say ‘Manch’?”
Is the correct answer.Barm
