“Manny”

I've never heard anyone refer to Town as Manny. Ever!
From my experience it seems to be people from the satellite towns rather than Manchester itself, doesn’t sit right with me, in fact if anyone says Manny to me I find them immediately irritating, which I know is irrational, but still, it’s fuckin Town !

The city centre is Town all day long. I've not HEARD anyone use 'Manny' as a reference to Town but I've seen it in comments on youtube and that.
Fucking loved Town as a kid. Getting on the 100-109 buses from Northern Moor and having to go through Moss Side thinking we were gonna get duffed upon the bus. haha. We never did...I ended up knowing loads of the lads from there from school. Got a knife pulled on me in Ancoats though...just walking through.
Who remembers that smell in the Arndale Market?

People who say manny are all soft southern twats responsible for the gentrification of our city. When I was at uni ten years ago all those not from the north west said manny. Knocked me sick then, still does now. Town.

Insulting to Mancs

It's Manchester, and especially known as Town

Those using manny can get stuffed

Once heard a pilot on the tannoy referring to it as “Manch” whilst flying to Ringway from Greece in the early 90’s.

I think that’s even worse.

I remember turning to my mate and saying “did that **** actually just say ‘Manch’?”

What else would you call a large wasteland with a Hacienda?*
