Liverpool FA Cup s/f (N) | Post Match Thread

We lost, we played poorly and I’m already over it.

No issue with criticism but some of the stuff written in the match day thread is fucking ridiculous.

Win the league again and I’m a happy bunny. The CL will be a bonus but it’s not a competition I’m enamoured with and never will be I suspect.

We do neither, we will be back again next season and the world will still be turning.
 
Considering how much more rest most of their team had, we did well. If you look at the chances for Sterling and Jesus we could have got something from this game.

Why pick Sterling… he never plays well against Liverpool.
 
On Pep that defeat.

Better management on his part maybe we could have won that.

He had given up on this game, hence why there was only one belated Sub so late.

He makes Subs earlier and we go on to win, He then has to admit maybe i got it wrong to start with.

So he waits until come back looks virtually impossible before making a token Sub, unfortunately he scores more or less immediately.

Liverpool were there for the taking.

WTF is his problem with substitutions.

Same Man was begging the FA to make it 5 permissible Subs per game.

I actually thought Jesus was our best forward player today but once again his finishing was dogshit.

Expected only a loss anyway. Got a respectable scoreline. Well done for that. Now rest and prepare for the 2 home games.
 
If we had to lose one game, then this was the one to do it in. Shame we made it so easy for them by being so shite especially in the first half. Just shows the quality of our play massively drops when we play too many 2nd string players together. Done now. Next.
 
We were always the under dogs today, after a midweek brawl versus one of the nastiest teams ever to play football. We probably would have won if Ederson had started, that is all I have to say.
 
Disappointing. Shit show of a 1st half but much more spirited in the 2nd.
Could have even salvaged a 3-3 at the end, big chance missed by Gab from a one on one...quelle surprise.
Some really poor performances....GK awful in the 1st half, Foden anonymous, Sterling very poor, Gab assisted but was generally poor. Grealish might have been poor too but at least he fucking scored and set up what should have been a goal for Jesus.
Ake immense at the back, Zinchenko was the polar opposite.
Ferny lucky to stay on the pitch.
The amount of times Stones passed it back to Steffan.
Pep must have kicked their arses at HT.
Hopefully KDB back soon.
 
A pretty even game really, apart from in front of goal, where they capitalised on their chances and we fluffed our lines. Seems like a theme!
 
The score line looks alright in the end I guess. We curbed an embarrassment but yet again pep approaching the cup semi final really not that bothered, without naming names I think there’s 2 or 3 players in our squad who probably shouldn’t be.
 
Can’t criticise the selection or the second half performance which suggested the line up was good enough to compete, the Steffen F-up killed us. I know Liverpool sat back & played on the counter but even if they where 1 up they would’ve done the same, in time we will look back and see we never won a game in one of our toughest weeks, but that won’t tell the full story, I have witnessed guts desire big balls and a will to never give in, we will need all that in the next month, time to show our support to the lads & bring home what would be a special double

Made a mistake picking Steffan over Ederson, you can see how Klopp treated it he went for Allison despite Kellher being class as their cup keeper

Don't even need to bring on KDB a she is so injury prone..... but why weren't Mahrez, Rodri, Gundogan, Laporte brought on about 55/60 mins in
 
Fucking awful first half, so, so shit, play like that against Scunthorpe and you go behind, let alone bloody Liverpool.They were a bit shit 2nd half (not as shit as us in first half though)and I guess we had a bit of a go, which in itself is kind of frustrating.
More irritated that we didn't win both lge games when much the better side in truth.
Hopefully we get the job done in Lge (and dare I say CL?!) and Palace or Chelsea beat them in FA Cup Final.
