It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

I put his name in the players to improve us thread but Serge Gnabry is having contract issues with Bayern would he be a good Sterling replacement?
Nkunku would be my first choice but Gnabry would be cheaper alternative in terms of fee at least.

Is he asking too much cash for Bayern's liking or just wants new challenge?

Home Grown as well, big plus for him

Wont accept the wages Bayern are offering him. Bayern will have to sell this summer or risk losing him on a free next summer.

It's Sterling we need to shift.

Absolutely no issue with Jesus staying if he wants to.

For Sterling to leave, we might have to accept less than £50m in his final year.
Agree, I just don't rate him and never have done. Fine against Burnley and CSKA but if that one chance comes against the top opposition at 0-0 you just know he isn't doing it. Just my opinion

sterling is fast, he can beat fullbacks with pace. but he's an extremely slow decision maker, and when he's making his decision his brain automatically tells him to slow down, so his pace is almost irrelevant as by the time he's decided what he wants to do he's already caught.
Best description iv heard he over thinks things

Like Jack is saying, we need a bigger squad. Hopefully we're up for a mega summer with 3-4 new players. Haaland, Alvarez, Midfielder, Left back and maybe even a new back up Keeper.

I agree that it’s cost us but Pep has always liked to work with smaller squads. If he is open to changing that, great (and we have the money), but he would need to make a philosophical change too

Do we really need a bigger squad or like Jack says do we just need to play the kids more so they become real options for us in a crunch? It’s very difficult for me to believe given the quality of our academy we don’t have 3-4 players each season who are good enough to play in the cups, home against relegation fodder, etc. Time and time again when kids get in to full strength sides they’re more than good enough to hold their own. It’s also good business, sell on values increase tremendously with first team experience.
