The Daily United with another negative (Pep) headline and article pre-match. And the article has attracted loads or Dippers, Rags, and City haters echoing the article. Job done. It’s every time from that f*cking Rag/Dipper hating fanzine. Let’s see what their headline and pre-match article will be like tomorrow about Klopp.

This whole, “poor stupid Micah not clever enough to come up with an article himself and letting himself get used by the media” absolutely reeks.
His timing and randomness in providing such an article is stupid of him. If he’s been manipulated or is simply thick remains to be seen. He is our first prominent ex player in the media who is also on city’s payroll still. Instead of fighting a battle for us he’s chipping in. The context isn’t outrageously bad. Just the whole point of it is.

Why is the timing bad? Because it comes before a game? We play every 3 fucking says it’s always going to be before a game.

He sat in the stands and heard a bunch of fans slagging off a player, so he wrote an article about it.

It’s not stupid and it’s not manipulation.

Self appointed "spokespersons" for our millions of fans, calling Micah stupid, because he expressed his opinion. Always offended, why ? because he smiles and doesn't behave like Carragher. He seems to be intelligent enough to have made a good life for himself, is that what brings out the jealousy and bile ? Maybe too many recognise themselves in what he wrote.

The timing is bad because it’s at the business part of an important and possibly historic season. We complain other people stir these things up prior to big games yet we are happy for one of our own to do it.

Nobody can answer it but why? He’s sat in the stands. Working for the club, no article about how well we played. No spin on his take of Jesus, he decided after a 5-1 win to write an article about our fans moaning about Sterling after he blazed a chance over from about 8 yards. Whoever missed that would have been greeted with annoyance, even more so from a man who is so good yet has that kind of hideous strike in his locker. He didn’t need to write that article. He was working for the club that day and went out of his way to go to the mainstream media to write a negative article after a big important win. People can agree with his thoughts if they want, always a sensitive subject with Raz but the second a paid ambassador of the club starts adding to all the negative articles then we are fighting a losing battle. Nowhere else would it happen you won’t find existing ex players on teams payrolls producing that kind of shit, no need to stick the knife in when everybody else already is.

At other clubs, footballers who will in all likelihood end up the clubs 4th highest goal scorer in history before turning 30 and leave as the most decorated player in the clubs history don’t get constant abuse actually, they’re usually revered and worshiped.

If you go to other clubs’ forums you won’t see players with 8 seasons of success getting 300 pages more posts than anyone else on their threads because users are tripping over themselves to say they want the player “fucked off”.

It’s not normal. It’s weird, weird enough that an acquaintance of Sterling and ex-City player picked up on it and thought it was worth writing about.
Great post, thank you.

There isn’t anything that deep but feel free to play that card. People are upset a man who was there, being paid by the club whilst thousands others pay their own way produces a negative article for very little reason. Christ imagine if he’d been in the kippax when Edgehills passes resulted in throw ins.

I'm looking forward to the BT panel of Steve McManaman, Michael Owen, Sergio Ramos, Raul and Iker Casillas giving their unbiased view on tonight's game.

Well as the last 10 pages of this thread has shown, they could hire decorated former city players but people on here would just decide they’re turncoats or sell outs within a month anyway so why bother?

Damn it man I was trying to stop the in fighting and focus on the shared enemy that is BT!

From the BBC. "They have been wildly successful domestically, but the Champions League has become something of an obsession for big-spending City under Guardiola, who has won it twice before as boss of Barcelona."

Same article, no mention of the 700+ million spent by Liverpool or notoriously transfer market shy Real Madrid.

They must get told to say it, it’s just not a natural thing to say.

I have no interest in playing whatever "that card" is. People are upset he is expressing his opinion and not behaving like a trained parrot dressed in a blue moon suit. You say he's a paid ambassador of the club. If so that is but one of many income streams, does he not get paid by Sky or numerous media outlets, have other business interests ?. He doesn't have an exclusive "only say what dear leader tells me" clause with City, does he ?. Does he lose the right to write what he wants because "others pay their own way" ?

Net spend is the only number they care about 726 million outlay minus 395 million for Coutinho , 331 million NET
