Last summer was devastated we couldn't get Camavinga, thought he'd be among the best DM in world football and early signs show he is going to fulfill that potential
Won't lie but feel Tchouameni could be a similar case
Hearing rumours of prices of around £35mil would be a great deal...especially with Dinho leaving
But....the big man at DM right now..can't see us going for someone like that while rodri is here, he's so key for us any DM would be worried about joining us
But we will need an extra body in midfield without Dinho....are Lavia or Doyle ready? Doubtful for Lavia or we would've seen him more, and Doyle needs more game time

Grealish a prospect or potential signing what are you on aboutLook at the quality of players we have at the EDS! if we want young players with potential, we have them at the EDS. We already have a "prospect" player in Alvarez coming in, we can't bring Gordon in, no need to spend a lot of money on more "prospects" when we have Palmer, Edozie, McAtee, Kaykee.
We have boys who can do what Gordon does! What we need now are players who would hit the ground running and immediately impact the team. These are the type of players the dippers keep going for and look at the impact Konate, Jota and Diaz have had this season! These type of signings are what keep a team in or out of the title race! Look how the Grealish signing has turned out so far, luckily we have strong figures who have all played a vital role in keeping us ahead of the dippers this season!
We risk doing an "Arsenal" if we keep making these "prospect" or "potential" signings like Ferran or Grealish (players who need half a season or an entire season to come good). If we are going to let Sterling or Jesus go, then we have to bring in players who can have an immediate impact and go on to play at the highest level for the next 6 or 7 years while we slowly introduce the EDS boys to the first team.
Let's leave Gordon to Arsenal or Spurs for now, maybe in 3 years he would be good enough!

Walker is a better right back than Cancelo.
I love Walker and all that he brings with him but it’s not possible to know if he’s the better of the two in that position when Cancelo has hardly played at RB under our system.
Cancelo has been great at LB and I think it logical to presume that he’d be even better in his natural position, on the right, if he had a run of games in that position to bed in.

Agree, not seeing anything special from Gordon. Looks a typical Everton player to meWe have boys from the EDS that can do exactly what Anthony Gordon does if not better.

I love Walker and all that he brings with him but it’s not possible to know if he’s the better of the two in that position when Cancelo has hardly played at RB under our system.
Cancelo has been great at LB and I think it logical to presume that he’d be even better in his natural position, on the right, if he had a run of games in that position to bed in.
Joao Cancelo has played 63 games at Right Back for City, everyone should know he's not as good a RB as Walker by now.

I think that Walker’s a terrific RB and I also think that your intention was to simply say that you don’t think that Cancelo could be as good as Walker in the RB position, which is a fair opinion and you’re welcome to it.
What baffles me is that I’ve not said that you’re wrong about that. If you reread my words then you’ll see that my expressed opinion was that he hasn’t had enough of a consistent run at RB for me to know if he’s better than Walker or not.
I also didn’t suggest that he’s not played at RB, though I am surprised that he’s played there 63 times? Anyhow, IMO, if he’d played 63 games at RB on the trot then it’d really mean something, but that he’s had a few here and a few there and iirc the most he ever played at RB was when he was settling in - and, as you know, many of our players suffer first season syndrome due to needing to get used to how to play in our system.
If it’s ok with you I’ll stick with my thought that Cancelo (a brilliant stand in LB who naturally plays at RB) might actually prove to better than Walker if given sufficient opportunity to do so.

The truth is he’s had 3 years to challenge Walker at RB and if the best LB in the world joined us tomorrow, it’d be them and Walker starting at fullback.

And I counter that Walker, who’s very comfortable in our system, has played RB for the vast majority of games.
Our team / squad are very comfortable with Walker being at RB, because they’re more used to that, and our system is pretty much built around Walker (and his incredible speed) being in the RB position.
I’m not sure why you’re banging on about this.
I didn’t say that you we’re wrong, just that I’m not entirely convinced . . so you metaphorically thumping the table to force your opinion on me won’t work because, as mentioned, you’re not the thought police and differing opinions (especially marginally differing ones) are allowed regardless of you not being happy about that.

Walker and Cancelo play different roles as Right Back - they can both play there but neither looks as comfortable or as happy doing the role of the other.
