i think a lot of this deal is based on gundogans decision. as i understand at the moment its the 'plan' for him to move on. whether thats coaching or another club im unsure

It will say a lot about him, but at the same time if he was that valuable and seen as a gem we would have gone for him, same case as when Thiago was available and Liverpool went for him. We have priorities and other targets, and we clearly do not want another high wage player on our books who's also going to cost 70-80m.

Yeah as I expressed earlier in the thread my concern isn't that he wants to go to United, or that we don't want him, it's more that United are the kind of club that would be willing to pay the absurd transfer fee to make it happen and stop Barcelona negotiating with other clubs.

Then again, he might just try to stick around at Barcelona in that scenario.
